Military Spouse
Military Family Background
I've spent over 13 years as a military spouse to an active-duty United States Marine, mastering the ins and outs of this dynamic lifestyle. Before joining Syneos Health, I served as a civilian employee (GS) with the United States Navy. My professional journey has revolved around supporting veterans and transitioning service members, offering over a decade of expertise in coaching, mentoring, and guiding careers for both service personnel and their families. I come from a long line of military heritage—I proudly hail as the granddaughter of a WWII Army veteran, recognized with two bronze stars. Additionally, I am the niece of a Vietnam War veteran, decorated with both a bronze star and purple heart. With such deep roots in military service, I've gained firsthand insight into this lifestyle and am committed to extending support and building connections wherever possible.
Employment as a Military Spouse
For many of us military spouses with our own career aspirations, we've felt the "side effects" of the military lifestyle firsthand. It's not until you're living it that you realize the extent of the professional sacrifices involved. Personally, I've relocated every 3-4 years, encountering duty stations with limited opportunities aligned with my expertise. Overseas postings can halt a career entirely. With each move, there's a need to adapt to the local job market, sometimes accepting roles below our skill level and impeding career advancement. With that said, I seek an employer who understands, has compassion, and recognizes the potential contributions I can make, even in the short term. I appreciate an employer who acknowledges my long-term commitment, invests in my professional growth, and offers flexibility.
Working at Syneos Health
I work as a Talent Sourcer with the Communications team under Commercial Solutions at Syneos Health. My role involves spearheading the initial phases of recruitment, focusing on sourcing and engaging top-notch talent to meet the organization's staffing requirements. My time at Syneos Health has been exceptionally positive, as the company is renowned for its upbeat work culture—a sentiment I've personally experienced. I feel fortunate to have a supportive team and the flexibility to manage personal needs, particularly during deployments, while also balancing work responsibilities and home life.
Syneos Health Veterans Community
I found out about the Veteran Community at Syneos Health through my supervisor during conversations about my passions and professional background. Syneos Health continues its ongoing efforts to expand veteran initiatives through collaborations with various organizations, transition services, and more. The dedication of a veteran community is crucial as we work towards evolving the company into a more veteran and military-friendly organization.
