Overview

We are seeking a Brand Strategy Manager to join our growing Strategy and Insights team at Addison Whitney. The Brand Strategy Manager will develop and present ideas that solve our client’s brand-related challenges. You will be the lead Strategist on projects you are responsible for – expected to conduct and communicate implications from research, and have a point of view of how the client should position their brand based on findings. You are team oriented and continuously pursue improvements as you help create and shape brands with purpose, personality, distinct positioning and compelling messaging.

 

You are confident in navigating the complexities of both internal and external teams throughout the strategic process as you pursue the right answer. You have a solid understanding of the academic aspects of brand strategy and can adapt your thinking to align with Addision Whitney processes and procedures, while contributing to the continuous improvement of our internal strategy tools, templates and deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Be the lead Strategist on brand-related projects including (but not limited to!) Positioning, Messaging, Architecture and Nomenclature for both product and corporate brands
  • Identify opportunities to optimize existing processes and deliverables to better meet client needs, including development and implementation of new deliverables
  • Utilize client interactions to build deeper relationships that facilitate trust and further opportunities for Addison Whitney
  • Conduct both desktop research and primary research to inform strategies, often in partnership with our internal research team
  • Review and synthesize research conducted in house or by our clients
  • Develop insightful, on-strategy deliverables aligned to the Addision Whitney approach
  • Write and present compelling narratives that sell strategies to clients
  • Drive consensus and alignment for both internal and external teams
  • Serve as an active partner to the Business Development and Marketing teams to generate and pitch Strategy opportunities
  • Occasionally partner with the marketing team to develop case studies or thought leadership materials
  • Provide training to cross-functional team members on principles of brand strategy, best practices, and ongoing understanding of the value of strategy in decision making

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of creative experience within a branding agency or corporate brand strategy team required
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required
  • Experience with training, team development and management of direct reports is preferred
