Overview

 

The Group Account Director Advertising will take a leadership role in the Advertising Group in Germany as part of the wider, integrated Communications offer. This role will work with Creative Director, the German Senior Management, the other communication disciplines and partner offices in London and outside of Europe to support clients with outstanding communication solutions and deliver both revenue and margin targets for the Advertising practice.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and take ownership of the German Advertising business and regularly review progress against the annual business objectives (together with agency leadership)
  • Effectively lead and utilise their team and the resources available to ensure the smooth running of operational requirements, optimise business performance and drive business development
  • Work with German Senior Leadership and peers within the group to shape the future of the German communication business and integrate with existing teams and services
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships within the wider business, especially with the UK and French advertising business, and agencies in the US, especially Navicor.
  • Maintain a suitable staffing plan for growth defined by strategy, business development progress, client needs and growth opportunities
  • Show active leadership in the mentoring and coaching of team within the Advertising Group and beyond where appropriate
  • Evolve and deliver an innovative service portfolio.
  • Input into creative, strategic and tactical development of client proposals (in cases beyond Advertising)
  • Contribute to annual revenue forecasts, reforecasts and business planning to meet the agreed targets
  • Drive Business development for the German advertising business supported by the European BD team and the German Leadership team

Job Requirements

  • Deep experience of working in a healthcare agency environment
  • Strong client service experience
  • Experience in leading teams
  • Experience in strategic thinking and communications planning
  • Strong expertise and extensive experience in high science healthcare communications towards HCP and beyond and spanning multiple therapy areas
  • Experience in managing the operational financial aspects
  • Experience of business development in both winning and organic new business
  • Experience in the leadership of global client teams
