Responsibilities

The Field Director will have responsibility for the management of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team, along with optimizing field responsibilities, scientific knowledge transfer, and performance related to KOL/HCP interactions. The Director will also be responsible for providing the client with weekly activity reports as well as ensuring MSL competency, meeting full compliance and professional ethical standards and performance expectations. The Field Director will:

  • Work with cross-functional partners to support and direct the team on CRM operations, scientific insights and KOL/HCP scientific profiling and engagement strategy
  • Oversee territory plan of action, training and congress planning
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on business planning, special projects, and strategy development to support medical goals and objectives

Job Requirements

Along with a results-oriented mindset, self-assurance, and an engaging manner, the ideal candidate has:

  • Advanced scientific degree strongly preferred (MD, DO, PharmD, DPT, OTD, NP, PA, or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of Medical Affairs experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry, with 3+ years in a field-based management role
  • Immunology (GI, Rheumatology or Dermatology) experience preferred 
  • Experience in team management and developing, tracking, and reporting field medical performance against medical goals and objectives
  • Experience with thought leader (KOL) identification and engagement planning as well as field insights analysis and synthesis
  • Demonstrate business acumen and a strong ability to align initiatives with medical objectives and cross-functional strategic imperatives for client’s products
  • Ability to travel and possess a valid driver’s license to drive to assigned healthcare accounts, unless otherwise specified

Interviews may be conducted in person at an on-site interview location. For any in-person interviews, local COVID-19 safety guidelines will be followed.
