This is a hybrid position - working 1-2 days a week in the Morrisville, NC office.

Responsibilities

The Creative Manager, Design (CMD) is chiefly responsible for designing various client-bound training modalities and internal marketing collateral as well as overseeing such efforts of junior and contract designers. The main goal of the CMD is to ensure consistent, high-quality output of all such deliverables on a daily basis.

The Creative Manager, Design will split their time between doing actual graphic design work and guiding the design oversight of several larger projects with respect to the visuals/designs, as designated by the Associate Director, Creative Services (ADCS). The CMD will essentially be the design lead (termed the “Creative Strategist”) on select projects and will meet with the ADCS and project team to ensure all deliverables within each such project are consistent in approach and style. The CMD will also help to track the needs of other designers on the same project.

This position will likely grow in time to take on an even greater role in project oversight and management, while reducing hands-on design work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work efficiently and effectively, often while multitasking, to adhere to project budgets and timelines, and maximizing utilization
• Create deliverables that meet client brand guidelines and meet the client’s objective
• Provide art direction on select projects as the “Creative Strategist,” to ensure all deliverables meet client expectations regarding visual/creative consistency
• Bring knowledge and experience to the team on strategies or best practices to best solve for client objectives
• Establish new ways to visually present work for client proposals and marketing collateral as well as investigate new, viable paths to bring overall innovation to our client deliverables
• Maintain consistent and open communication with colleagues to keep the daily workflow moving ahead
• Provide general artistic input, feedback, and coaching for junior team members and contractors, as needed
• Communicate with clients directly to explain design ideas, methods, and goals
• Proactively address potential problems along the process of creating deliverables as well as addressing any cause of dissatisfaction from colleagues or clients as they may emerge
• Assist project managers as needed with the allocation of design resources and project budgeting and timelines with regards to design-related tasks, requirements, and standards
• Properly organize your work against weekly deliverables

• 8-10 years of professional graphic design/graphic design project management experience
• Able to provide work samples and/or online portfolio
• Has a great curiosity about design, technology, and learning
• Creative, innovative, and able to translate ideas and vision into creative, artistic, and engaging designs
• Proficient in the problem-solving processes
• Communicates clearly in written and verbal form
• Detail-oriented with a keen eye to test, identify, and resolve any technical issues before deployment or delivery on desktop and iPad platforms
• Demonstrated command of good visual design, UX, and UI principles
• Provide accurately rendered scientific concepts based on research and communication using stock imagery
• Ability to work occasional OT
• Requires advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro, and Microsoft PowerPoint at minimum, with working knowledge of Excel and Outlook
• Familiarity with HTML5 and front-end web design and e-mail newsletter design
• Familiarity with Articulate Rise—preferred
• Familiarity with 3D software and rendering—preferred
• Recent experience designing for XR products (AR, VR, MR)—preferred
