Overview

Lead design of user interface, visualization layer, and overall experience for a new, fast-growing data management and analytics software product.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct UX research, interviews and workshops
  • Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, workflows, visual mockups, and clickable prototypes
  • Test hypotheses through usability testing and participate in design critique
  • Design data visualizations, charts, tables, and other interactive dashboard elements that communicate information clearly and quickly
  • Establish a UX/UI design system, process, and methodology
  • Create a unified style guide to be used across digital product
  • Present design work to internal and client teams for review
  • Developing sketches, prototypes and spec work for pitch / new business opportunities

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • A portfolio of work with intuitive and attractive user interfaces for enterprise products with interactive data interfaces: dashboards, HUDs, visualizations, etc.
  • Good understanding of data structures, data analysis, and data visualizations. Ability to translate Excel documents into compelling visualizations
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, InVision, or Figma;, Lucid Chart, Miro, or Mural; as well as Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar. Working knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience working with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, as well as data and graphing libraries like d3.js and Highcharts
  • Experience with PowerBI and Tableau, and experience adjusting UI design to technical limitations of BI platforms
  • Experience with design systems and creating/maintaining styles
  • Experience collaborating with Data Scientists, Business Analysts and Marketing Clients
  • Experience with Agile methodology and working within a software development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of relevant best practices and theory. Strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques
