The Senior Medical Strategist is responsible for assisting the agency team in the understanding and application of scientific/clinical data. It is the Senior Medical Strategist’s responsibility to use their scientific knowledge, summarizing skills, and strategic thinking to enhance the Agency’s offerings to the client.

Responsibilities

1. Work closely with account and creative teams to explain, summarize, and simplify scientific/medical information
2. Ongoing analysis of oncology scientific literature, conferences outcome, social media, manufacturer press releases and news releases from other sources for specific therapeutic areas relevant to our business (inline brands and new business opportunities):
   1. Identify implications for brands, customers, and the market and provide this information proactively to clients, as appropriate
   2. Summarize competitive intelligence
   3. Capture claim statements for use by copywriters in branded/unbranded materials
   4. Identify and follow key influencers and digital opinion leaders
   5. Proactively develop brief powerpoint review of all relevant information found during analysis, accompanied with “so what” implications for a specific brand

1. Conduct specific literature searches to identify relevant information pertinent to specific tasks
2. Attend client meetings – role is to listen for unmet scientific informational needs and to provide most relevant and recent insights from their ongoing analysis
3. Assist the agency team in annual strategic and tactical planning
4. Performs other duties as assigned by manager

Job Requirements

• The applicant would ideally possess a Ph.D., M.D. or PharmD  
• A minimum of 2 years of pharmaceutical promotion experience
• Must be experienced/comfortable with providing oncology-specific scientific and medical expertise
• Strong communication and presentation skills 
• Previous experience with pharmaceutical promotion/ advertising regulations a plus

However, in the event that I successfully obtain an exemption, I understand that it is highly unlikely that I will be able to adequately perform the essential functions of this position without imposing an undue hardship on Syneos Health due to the clients’ demands.
