The National Business Director (NBD) will be directly responsible for a Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) team performance & strategy within an assigned geography. The FRM is responsible for market development and implementation of the coverage and reimbursement strategy that will maximize patient access within an assigned geographic area.     


  • Collaborate with Recruiting & client in the development of the plan that identifies the appropriate candidate profile to build a diverse and effective team.  Play significant role in monitoring the interviewing and hiring process to ensure alignment with the agreed upon hiring parameters, field implementation timelines and overall project objectives
  • Manage the employment process, offer thru start date, with candidate, client and appropriate Syneos personnel and coordinate and collaborate with the client to ensure successful on-boarding and field certification
  • Be the single point of contact for the client on program needs. Maintain consistent and open communication with client team, as needed. Drive Syneos Connectivity with field personnel, pulling thru the Syneos culture and communicating Syneos business updates. Serves as point of contact for field personnel on Syneos Health corporate matters
  • Provide high level strategic planning with client to address client needs
  • Monitor contract and program performance
  • Direct oversight of Field Reimbursement Managers - recruit, interview, hire, and monitor team performance
  • Provide Reimbursement (coding, coverage any payment policy) coaching expertise on manufacturer products in all places of service
  • Ensure team provides reimbursement education to physician offices throughout the access journey
  • Ensure team follows client rules of engagement, delivers on Management By Objectives/metrics, and provides a high customer satisfaction experience
  • Monitor team performance submit timely field coaching reports
  • Educate direct reports on how to navigate & educate on required reimbursement models by utilizing an in depth understanding of Utilization Management criteria for both commercial and government payers, Assignment of Benefits and Medicare Part B or D options for reimbursement
  • Provide coaching to assigned team of Field Reimbursement Managers to ensure local patient access and achievement of MBOs
  • Identify prospective opportunity or coverage issue and communicate to your team and internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to HUB/Call Center, Market Access, Sales, and other field partners.
  • Work collaboratively to identify key accounts to overcome access barriers for key client stakeholders and ensure team supports with appropriate reach, frequency, and access goals
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties, as required

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree or specific practice management experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years in reimbursement, sales, supporting a specialty or biologic product
  • Minimum of 3 years in management capacity required
  • Experience working with a patient centric HUB
  • Previous market access management experience preferred
  • Past success in launching products and execution of launch strategies and plans
  • Ability to travel and possess a valid driver’s license
  • Heavy travel required up to ~75%
