Responsibilities

  • Support Communications COO in day to day contract management and process improvements
  • Own the relationships with Syneos Procurement and Syneos Legal on behalf of USPR – with the plan to expand to all of Communications
  • Leverage expertise to architect and implement new ways of working across communications
  • Improve and advance processes and capabilities in the contract management space
  • Ensure contracts are executed in a timely manner, addressing all client needs and requirements
  • Own and improve the vendor contracting process
    • Establish NDA/CDAs
    • Partner with procurement on vendor qualification and risk assessments
    • Liaise between Syneos legal and vendor legal teams
    • Advise business on potential risk and adjust contract language accordingly
  • Own and improve the client contracting process
    • Establish NDA/CDAs
    • Partner with legal and finance on client risk assessment and set up
    • Liaise between Syneos legal and client legal teams
    • Advise account teams in SOW development
    • Negotiate rates/agreements with clients
  • Create and maintain a database for tracking contract history, rate reviews and procurement events – working to minimize consolidation risk and stay ahead of expirations
  • Assess client profitability and provide strategies for improvement
    • Initiate rate reviews with existing clients – provide account teams with analysis and advice on proposed rate structures and contract terms
    • Manage and apply benchmarking data across Communications
  • Facilitate freelancer/independent contract set up
  • Revamp conflict check process
  • Support RFI/RFP responses
  • Demonstrate understanding of the dynamics and working of the agency’s process as it relates to the client’s business
  • Stay up to date on Syneos contract and contracting process changes and communicate out to PR organization

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-7 years experience
  • Experience managing client and/or vendor onboarding
  • Demonstrated knowledge of key contract language and risk assessments
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Detail oriented and strong time management
  • Ability to manage across diverse set of stakeholders
