The AD reports to the SVP, Management Supervisor of a new practice unit of Cadent, under the Syneos Health umbrella. This is a leadership role within the Team with the primary responsibility to help develop this new company that will focus on facilitating and supporting productive relationships between advocacy organizations and the pharma/biotech industry.

This individual will be required to work both with industry and advocacy contacts to grow the business model and includes significant day-to-day contact and outreach to build foundation for the business. As this is a new venture, the ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit and flexibility to take on strategy, research, account management, program development, proposal writing and collaborating with internal resources to execute programming as needed. 

This role has significant opportunity to help shape our ongoing success, strategy, processes, organization, and initiatives. Strong leadership, general management, organizational and project management skills are a must to manage multiple relationships and programs across multiple domains for our pharma and advocacy clients.  


Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach, schedule and present at new business meetings with advocacy or pharma contacts
  • Conduct research on the advocacy landscape, organizations, and partnership opportunities for pharma clients
  • Ideate and create programming that supports advocacy mission/community audiences that strategically aligns with unmet needs and potential funding opportunities
  • Craft proposals/presentations for pharma/advocacy clients including funding/sponsorship models
  • Coordinate with internal departments (Editorial, Finance, Accounts, Scientific Services, Meetings, Digital, etc) across Cadent for implementation of contracted programs
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the growing company and train new staff as they are brought on based on future company development
  • Liaise with cross-Syneos partners in Clinical and Commercial companies to support advocacy needs, business development and other opportunities as they arise

 

Job Requirements

  • Approximately 7-10 years’ relevant experience in advocacy, healthcare education, community services, clinical practice and/or pharma/biotech industry (required)
  • Strong and demonstrable management skills building long-term relationships within the healthcare/advocacy community (required)
  • An undergraduate degree in a clinical/social services, health-related field, education or communications. (preferred)
  • Previous experience in rare disease and/or voluntary health organizations/patient advocacy or related field (preferred)
  • Successful track record in strategic planning, program implementation, consensus building and relationship building. (required)
  • Ability to travel as necessary to conference, client meetings and program execution (required)
  • Comfortable interacting with families from diverse disability, cultural and economic backgrounds (required)
  • Ability to lead and manage external stakeholder groups (preferred)
