Who we are: We are a new and growing practice with diverse experience across health policy, legal communications, crisis management and consulting. Our clients are leading life-sciences companies that seek our communications counsel to help navigate through their most complex business challenges. We take the approach that preparation prevents communications issues from becoming business problems: 80% of our client work focuses on proactive risk mitigation strategies, while 20% is rapid response.

Who you are: We’re looking for a self-described healthcare “nerd”—someone who wants to think about complex national (and global) healthcare issues and advise clients on communications implications. To succeed in this role, you need a knack for solving problems quickly and an ability to remain calm under pressure. Candidates we consider must have a proven track-record of rolling up their sleeves and gathering available information to formulate persuasive recommendations and action plans. Excellent writing and verbal presentation skills are required.

What you’ll do: This is not an administrative role. We’re an “all hands on deck” kind of team and expect everyone’s help in solving problems, drafting points of view, and providing strategic counsel and the growth opportunity is enormous.  The person in this role will also:

  • Review news and media activity across stakeholders in the healthcare industry to keep team informed on key developments; flagging high priority issues in real time
  • Conduct ad hoc research to inform client strategies and develop practice case studies
  • Generate and coordinate original content to be distributed weekly to executives at leading life sciences companies
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline standard operating procedures for a growing practice
  • Manage client account financials

Job Requirements

What you need: Our ideal candidate will be able to work independently under tight deadlines with limited direction. Other key skills include:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience (preferably past agency, consulting or healthcare)
  • Educational background in communications/media, journalism, business, or healthcare preferred
  • Capacity to process new information rapidly and make decisions based on limited information
  • Comfort working in cross-functional teams large and small and interacting with different people on a daily basis (including clients)
