The Temp Managing Editor in the Editorial Publications Group reviews all pieces in the publications track (manuscripts, abstracts, posters, page proofs) developed by Cadent Medical Communications, ensuring all are accurate and professional from a grammatical, scientific, and style perspective. 

Cadent Medical Communications specializes in high science, high touch peer-to-peer medical communications. The company excels in translating complex science into compelling messages that deliver value and action. Cadent builds relationships and collaboration between the biopharmaceutical industry and healthcare professionals.


  • Performs editorial reviews, including copy edits, W4Ws, fact/data checks
  • Reviews for content, grammar, and spelling as well as for journal/congress style, Good Publication Practice (GPP3) and ICMJE guidelines and consistency within the publication and among related components
  • Fact checks initial round of jobs and subsequent rounds as necessary (has the ability to understand scientific and medical data to ensure copy accurately represents the source from which it was taken) and queries the science writer when necessary
  • Accurately tracks time spent on each job and enters in time-tracking system on a daily basis

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in English or related field
  • 2 years’ experience in medical publications   



  • Proficient in following detailed journal and congress style guides
  • Proficient in basic grammar and spelling rules
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (ie, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Skilled in editing digitally using software such as Adobe Acrobat Pro markup tools and track changes in Microsoft Word
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with internal team members
  • Ability to work independently 


  • 3-5 years’ experience in medical publications
  • Master’s degree in a related field and/or related certification
