This role is responsible for producing creative and innovative technology/digital offerings in the healthcare space for GSW. In this role, the SVP or VP of Technology champions GSW’s commitment to create exceptional digital experiences and execution for client campaigns in a variety of environments that solve business needs and push the envelope of ‘traditional’ digital campaigns where and when possible. This may include producing prototypes (with a development team) for both new business and rapid digital testing in a live campaign. The role is highly entrepreneurial in nature and will interface with many departments and teams at GSW and Syneos Health.  Excellent communication skills and a history of successful client and team relationships is a requirement.

Responsibilities

General Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Drive partnerships, alignment, innovation and compliance across internal and client teams
  • Direct and manage the GSW Technology team in Columbus, partnering extensively with Creative and Strategy.
  • Participate as an active member within a GSW-NA Technology council sharing best practices, resourcing and technology innovations for our customers.
  • Assign and manage project assignments in collaboration with SH Creative Studio Technology team in conjunction with the Technology Studio leader.
  • Should concept and define architecture across a range of platforms (e.g. Veeva).
  • Drive internal innovation using Unity, Three.js, 8thWall, Azure IOT, AR/MR/VR, and new and emerging technology in the space.
  • Prioritize/manage a backlog & innovation funnel as well as decommissioning projects we are terminating.
  • Evaluate internal and external solutions & the corresponding tradeoffs.
  • Set the vision and act as Product owner with brand campaigns, experiments and pilots ,all of which are part of an office level Technology plan.
  • Manage delivery of projects alongside digital project managers and development studio.                 
  • Test, document, and share learnings to enable organizational maturity and shared learnings.

Job Requirements

Compliance:

  • Ensure privacy, security, and accessibility compliance
  • Coordinate compliance with Syneos legal (IoT and Software teams)
  • Financial (partner with Finance team to ensure appropriate classifications and budget compliance)
  • Work with Procurement and legal to validate contracts and terms
  • Work with Syneos legal teams to ensure we are following policy and Syneos mandated processes

Desired Capabilities and Competencies:

  • Familiarity with current and future looking technologies and trends, both first party and third party
  • 3+ years of experience in pharma/healthcare digital advertising
  • Expertise in front-end javascript is a requirement.  Knowledge should span multiple disciplines, from prototype-friendly platforms (e.g. React and Vue), to animation-rich libraries (e.g. Three.js and GSAP).
  • Experience in the Veeva platform is a requirement
  • Solid understanding of CMS platforms (e.g. Sitecore, AEM, Wordpress)
  • Familiarity with advances in technology in the healthcare space holistically
  • Ability to help develop business cases and ROI analysis for proposed investments
  • Experience with innovation, experimentation, and design thinking processes
  • Experience working with product groups and engineering feature teams
  • Strong communications and presentation skills, at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to build and maintain strong networks and operate in a matrixed organization
  • Additional full stack development capabilities or specialized experience from a creative technology perspective is a plus
