Syneos Health PR is looking for a Group Creative Director (copywriter) to join our growing team. Candidates must have a strong creative vision and be passionate about ideas, building teams, and crafting award winning work for some of the world’s most iconic health brands. Candidates will also assist with new business and internal efforts.

Applicants must have a strong integrated portfolio of work including a mix of PR campaign development, broadcast/web video storytelling, and digital/social/mobile marketing. Must be a team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get into the work and able to seamlessly integrate across other departments in the agency including strategy, account management, and the creative studio.

Responsibilities

  • Sets high creative standards for her/his teams
  • “Owns” her/his brands at the creative level
  • Sets the creative vision for her/his brands and ensures effective creative development
  • Active in strategic development on his/her assigned projects and brands. Partners with Account Lead + Strategy in this area
  • Builds and maintains strong client relationships
  • Partner with clients on effective creative development
  • Works closely with CD/ACD’s to manage staffing issues
  • Leads by example by being a “hands-on” creative (still creates)
  • Provides creative leadership & standards for the entire creative department
  • Provides career paths and development (guidance) for his/her creative team members
  • Is proactive by servicing “what if” ideas with ACD’s, internal teams and clients
  • Supervises CD/ACD’s and ensures that they are working efficiently in all areas

Job Requirements

Education

  • 10 years plus experience in PR/advertising/marketing, at least 2 of which should be in a senior management capacity

Skills

  • Must have a thorough understanding of client’s business/category and demonstrate a best-in-class creative approach in offering marketing solutions to an assigned clients or categories
  • Prior business development experience and demonstrated success in strategic & concepting skills
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills
  • Demonstrated success in managing a cross-functional team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working on a wide range of accounts and categories
  • Track record and body of work to demonstrate ability of getting highest level of creative sold and produced
  • Creative Vision:  Sets & maintains high standards
  • Presentation Skills: Is effective & dynamic in a variety of formal presentation settings: one-on-one, small/large groups, with peers, direct reports & supervisors; is effective in selling creative rationale & work both inside and outside of the organization; instills respect and can manage meeting flow during presentations          
  • Demonstrating Ownership and Proactive Behavior: Demonstrates ownership of assigned Brand work by continually coming up with new ideas proactively. Ability and willingness to show ownership of work
