The Director of Creative Services is responsible for helping creative talent to produce excellent, award-winning work on behalf of our clients.  This person will work closely with our ECD, GCDs, Creative Studio and other office leaders to understand the work, the resource needs, and help make critical decisions needed to cast our teams optimally to deliver the best creative product. 

 

The ideal candidate has a strong background working in project management or operations at a creative agency.  This person knows the business intimately and understands that creatives are unlike any other - they are quirky, sensitive, insensitive, emotional, and irrational and have one goal in mind, to create great work.  This role is all about helping identify/cast/assign creative talent and pushing them to be inspired and to produce their best/most innovative work and thinking.

 

With that as the core charge, the Director of Creative Services will work closely with the ECD, GCDs and Creative Studio to ensure they have the right mix of talent.  Recruiting; day to day workload, rotations, and team building; and ensuring we are rewarding our best talent and helping manage our worst up or out with HR.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the work being done across the office and come up with ways to optimally staff our businesses.
  • Work with the ECD, GCDs and Creative Studio to manage day-to-day resourcing workload of all creative talent across the office and accounts.
  • Work closely with Finance and Operations partners to monitor financial metrics of creative group:
    • Billability/utilization
    • Manage resources against staff plans and scopes.
    • Timesheets
  • Responsible for ensuring pitch teams are staffed with the right talent to win.
  • Passionate advocate for the creative teams, the work and the product that Syneos Health creates.
  • Run weekly resource meetings with creative leaders to report progress of recruiting efforts and flag any internal resourcing issues.
  • Run weekly client resource meetings with Operations and account leads.
  • Driver of creative culture within the office – owning initiatives like intern program, partnership with different advertising organizations, attending recruiting events and portfolio reviews, spreading Syneos health creative word outside the office.
  • Help manage case study and award show submissions.

Job Requirements

  • 5-7 years resource management, project management or operations experience in advertising/marketing industry
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Microsoft excel
  • Assertive conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Clear and concise communication in both written and verbal form
  • Ability to be diplomatic or firm, when necessary, to drive solutions or obtain results
  • Highly detail oriented and able to work autonomously
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines with confidence and ease
  • Creative problem solver
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload across multiple groups
