Responsibilities

The Field Medical Echo Technician is responsible for identifying disease and product related medical needs in a defined geography. The primary role of the Echo Technician is to develop and maintain relationships with Thought Leaders (TL) and Healthcare Providers (HCP) within their healthcare system. The purpose of their interactions is to engage in meaningful scientific exchange that will ensure patients have access to manufacturer’s medicines, to ensure their safe and appropriate use through peer to peer discussions aligned with medical strategies and needs expressed by external stakeholders. The Echo Technician also serves as the medical resource for external stakeholders in the community.

Job Requirements

Along with demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

  • Two-Year Associates degree in diagnostic medical sonography from a program accredited by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years working in a clinical environment 
  • Pharmaceutical expeirence preferred, not required
  • Ability to work independently and act as team player highly desired
  • Ability to translate scientific or clinical data into an understandable and valuable form to help Echo & Sonography personnel best serve their patients
  • Disease area knowledge desired with understanding of scientific publications
  • Knowledge of echocardiography creation of 2D and 3D images desired
  • Knowledge of national healthcare and access environment desired
  • Good communication and presentation skills
