Responsibilities

The National Business Director will be the primary contact for the designated client on all matters related to the project and provide leadership, management and financial/operational oversight of the REMS Operations Specialist team. The National Business Director will be responsible for successful project launch and meeting or exceeding all goals and objectives. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Devise and institute an integrated national business plan in collaboration with overlapping business partners to achieve business goals with targeted customers
  • Oversee the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training and staffing of the management team and REMS Operations Specialist team
  • Utilize expertise to advise client on opportunities for REMS Operations Specialist team, specifically related to education on healthcare setting enrollment and requirements
  • Proactively recommend solutions to enhance the client’s performance, leveraging Syneos Health Deployment Solutions capabilities and other services as appropriate to support client competitiveness and further strengthen the partnership
  • Facilitate a culture of accountability/collaboration by serving as the primary liaison between Syneos Field Leaders, Syneos Health internal partners (HR, Commercial Capabilities, Client Services) and client stakeholders (Brand Team, Marketing, Commercial Operations) to identify scalable business practices and to problem solve potential field barriers to effective execution.
  • Ensure contracted services, information flow and all other deliverables are completed on time
  • Collaborate on development of performance goals and objectives at all levels and appropriate measures to ensure achievement.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the management team as well as periodic interaction with REMS Operations Specialist team to discuss program issues, training needs and personnel development to recommend solutions, as appropriate
  • Provide frequent, ongoing performance feedback to all direct reports and foster an environment that rewards accomplishment and encourages the advancement/retention of productive employees.
  • Minimize regrettable turnover through the selection process and ongoing leadership actions.

Job Requirements

Along with a results-oriented mindset, self-assurance and an encouraging manner, the ideal candidate has: 
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of commercial pharmaceutical experience with at least 5 years in field pharma/Biotech leadership leading a Regional or National Field team.
  • Strong program management within pharma industry required. Experience developing and managing REMS and/or Market Access teams highly desired
  • Ability to identify strategies with greatest business impact, formulate appropriate business plans within the approved strategy, and direct the team to execute the plan.
  • Excellent organization skills, especially in project planning, implementation and team management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven, successful history in leadership and motivational role
  • Ability to negotiate and influence cross-functional internal and client teams
  • Current driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 75%
