The Editorial Assistant assists in managing the day‐to‐day workload and execution of deliverables. The successful Editorial Assistant is a self-starter who is extremely detail‐oriented, an active listener, proactive communicator, and able to take direction and follow process. This team member is also eager to learn about marketing communications, the pharmaceutical industry, brand strategy, and business development. The Editorial Assistant has the ability to multitask in many different directions and manage time appropriately to support the  team’s objectives in optimizing editorial timelines and business development opportunities

Cadent Medical Communications specializes in high-science, high-touch peer-to-peer medical communications. The company excels in translating complex science into compelling messages that deliver value and action. Cadent builds relationships and collaboration between the biopharmaceutical industry and healthcare professionals.


  • Coordinates with internal teams to track the status of all editorial and business development jobs, review master list with team, and update project list weekly or as needed
  • Supports the development of tools, technology, and resources to house and automate access to critical business development assets (credentials, capabilities, case studies, relationships, individual agency and global partner information)
  • Deconstructs final presentations for best practices or reusable examples and identifies key words/metadata for future reference
  • Supports Cadent team members in the management of business development opportunities by coordinating meetings and taking notes
  • Makes an effort to gain and maintain a working knowledge of the industry, brands, and categories
  • Proofreads editorial and business pitch pieces; ensures the accuracy of format and visual quality of layouts
  • Establishes solid working relationships with all internal teams
  • Accurately tracks time spent on each job and enters in time-tracking system on a daily basis

Job Requirements


  • 1-3 years of copy editing, proofreading, data entry, or executive assistant/administrative assistant experience
  • Experience with Wrike or another electronic project management system     


  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, marketing, communications, biology, or relevant coursework
  • 0‐2 years of agency, marketing, copy editing, proofreading, or administrative assistant experience 
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage with staff at levels above/below and laterally within the organization
  • High computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (ie, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient in basic English grammar and spelling rules
  • Quick and accurate typing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and prioritize tasks
