In this role, you will represent an independent, global specialist HIV company engaging community advocates to raise the educational level of the greater HIV community in comorbidities, viral resistance, and new methods of regimen administration.  As a Community Liaison you’ll have the opportunity to meet people living with HIV, case managers, social workers, AIDS service organization staff, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses, to deliver educational programs, disease state awareness and support for direct to patient research.

You will:

  • Lead on all community related initiatives
  • Work within an assigned territory on relationship development and educational conduit for support of Thera’s focus populations; speaking engagements to targeted groups and allied health care professionals
  • Deliver training for sales personnel on educational programs
  • Coordinate educational programs with specific patient groups
  • Be responsible for patient or AHCP research initiatives focused on patient retention, adherence, training and education related to study regimen/administration
  • Focus on timely delivery of complex clinical information on the treatment and prevention of HIV
  • Establish strong working partnerships with key institutions and organizations serving these communities, such as AIDS Service/Community Based Organizations (ASOs/CBOs), FQHCs, STI clinics, Addiction/Methadone Clinics, Faith based organizations, cultural/ethnic organizations, and specialty and community pharmacies
  • Interface with a range of allied health professionals including social workers, case managers, treatment educators, discharge planners, outreach workers, and others directly or indirectly linked to the community

Job Requirements

Along with your ability to remain at the forefront of your field, you must possess:

  • 3-5 years’ of experience in HIV with demonstrated knowledge of the HIV clinical environment and advocacy space
  • A BA/BS degree applicant required, advanced degrees or experience preferred
  • Previous experience in pharma, biotech, or related industries preferred
  • Strong understanding of the HIV therapeutic areas and the current marketplace
  • Ability to understand, distill and communicate complex scientific and public health related concepts 
  • Strong presentation and training skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability interact with individuals from variety of cultures, and disciplines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform with a high level of independence.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% and possess a valid driver’s license to drive to assignments, unless otherwise specified
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams
