Position Description:

This client facing role will be responsible for analysis and reporting needs for assigned Value, Access, and Medical Affairs (VAM) clients.  The manager will contribute to new endeavors which enhance business insight generation across Syneos deployment solutions field teams including: clinical educators, market access/reimbursement, and medical science liaisons.  This includes designing tools and reports for Syneos VAM teams to enhance productivity and provide insights to measure the impact of Value, Access, or Medical type teams. Acts as point person for the quality in delivery of all such reports and insights. Strategic ad-hoc projects are also part of the job function.  This position is responsible for program management involving business information acquisition, analytics and reporting.  This role also develops and provides training to the junior team members, internal and field based teams.

Key Job Responsibilities:

(Duties may include, but not limited to all or some of the following)

• Primary client contact for analytics and reporting services from pre-implementation to project shut down, including gathering specifications for KPIs, report generation,  developing/maintaining timelines, working with managers to assign resources, QC, and execute on insight generation activities.
• Provide strategic + tactical direction for analytics projects and perform quality control functions on all deliverables including standard and ad hoc reports.
• Develop and maintain project documentation including statements of work.
• Lead design of new reporting initiatives.
• Periodically collect and disseminate project information and data from VAM and client services managers as needed.
• Oversee and aide business analyst development.
• Work independently to generate insights on impact, effectiveness, activities, trends, and projections regarding performance, efficiencies, and possible improvements.
• Work independently to create ad-hoc analyses and reports at the request of clients and VAM management.
• Act as Business Intelligence reporting liaison in client presentations. 
• Train field team, managers, and clients on utility of reports.
• Meet with VAM Management and clients to establish, monitor and review KPIs and reports on impact and effectiveness.
• Prepare and communicate detailed process workflow charts that describe inputs, execution steps and output.
• Assist in creation of case studies identifying business trends regarding team metrics.

Job Qualifications:

Education  

Required:             Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in data science, business analytics, statistics or related field

Skills:

Required:         

• Minimum of 5 years related pharmaceutical VAM related analytics + reporting experience.
• Experience with pharmaceutical clinical education or medical affairs, ideally with therapeutic team deployment solutions such as clinical educators and medical science liaisons, as well as reimbursement and market access teams.
• Strong analytical, mathematical and quantitative skills.
• In-depth knowledge of CRM systems including but not limited to Salesforce.com, and Veeva.
• Experience with visual analytics platforms (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik) and pharma data sets.
• Proficiency with either Microsoft SQL or MS Excel, including formulas, expressions and charting.
• Ability to interact with client stakeholders in a variety of functional areas including medical affairs, market access, managed care, and brand teams.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees.
• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to multitask, work under deadlines, manage customer expectations and execute timely deliverables.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong client relationship management skills. 

Preferred: 

• Understanding of emerging trends in pharmaceutical field team deployment solutions. 
• Supervisory experience.

These are all our non-promotional type teams (not sales focused).  Good example is where we deploy a team of nurses to do injection training for a client.  Nurse isn’t going in and selling anything but rather training the office and patients on self-injection for client product.  

Or, company has a product launch and needs to deploy team of market access managers to speak to payers on including coverage for the product.

Or, reimbursement specialists that help docs and offices with the pull-through (access) to a specialty drug by working with payer, pharmacy, etc.  

Or, a medical science liaison who is meeting with key opinion leader physicians at academic hospitals to discuss clinical science of treatments in a specific therapeutic area at a highly trained scientific level (e.g. PharmD).
