The Associate Director of Insights & Strategy is part insight builder, part strategist. Frequently problem solving against some of the toughest business challenges in the industry, this position is responsible for creating the understanding that involves, inspires and activates change amongst target audiences. Your role will be to elevate the organization’s insight into the lived experience of illness today, from the perspective of all key audiences - including physicians, patients and caregivers as applicable - and ensure they are at the forefront throughout the strategic and creative development process.

With an insatiable curiosity and deep interest in uncovering the behaviors, drivers and motivations of healthcare audiences, this role is hands-on in researching and delivering actionable market, industry and consumer insights, and translating them to smart strategies that deliver on Syneos’ philosophy of the Motivational Edge.

Often tasked with building and executing strategic ideas that lead to the crafting of compelling narratives and effective creative campaigns, the Associate Director of Insights & Strategy is also responsible for leading the creation and execution of brand strategy and new business efforts across a diverse range of accounts and projects, both within the individual agencies and across the larger Syneos Health Communications organization.

Working cross-functionally with account management, medical strategy, creative teams, and the centralized strategy function, this role supports the charge to consistently get to the deep, intuitive insights that drive behavior change.

  • Collaborate with clients and account teams to gather and translate business priorities and objectives into effective research plans with accompanying stimuli and discussion guides as needed
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to uncover actionable insights relevant to client business and research objectives
  • Elevate findings into insightful readout reports that bring the voice of the consumer to life and help to craft creative, clear and concise brand stories
  • Partner with core team members to articulate a vision for the Research discipline within Syneos Health Communications, build out the tools and training to upskill strategists, and raise the bar for insights storytelling

  • Proactively partner with account, medical and creative colleagues within our Communications agencies to become a valued strategic partner both internally and externally
  • Provide a deep understanding of the behaviors, drivers and motivations of healthcare audiences (professional and consumer, as applicable)
  • Identify business-building, brand equity, personality, positioning, and content opportunities for client brands
  • Persevere in nurturing and championing the “big creative idea”
  • Participate in new business efforts, including conducting primary and secondary research, shaping the creative brief, and aiding in developing the final presentation

  • An innovative thinker who prides yourself on devising inventive solutions to even the most arduous problems.
  • Devoted to forming rational, evidence-based opinions that find their balance in the emotional hooks that speak to human nature and motivators.
  • Curious and drawn to new ideas, especially offbeat or contrarian points of view.
  • A believer that conformity is synonymous with mediocrity. You enjoy throwing down a challenge to existing thinking, and don’t take it personally when others return the favor.
  • Versatile, optimistic and energetic.
