Responsibilities

The National Account Director is a remote position and will be responsible for developing and implementing managed care strategies while building long term positive and profitable relationships for our client's lead asset. The National Account Director will work within assigned accounts and cover all market access channels as needed. These may include: National and Regional Accounts.  The National Account Director primary responsibilities include securing favorable formulary status and access. The role will conduct financial analysis, develop proposals, secure internal approvals, negotiate terms and conditions, implement contractual agreements, and ensure Payers are enabled to support oteseconazole.

This role reports to the Sr. Director of Account Management and Pricing and will work closely with, Field Sales Directors, Operations & Analytics, Trade, Finance, Legal, and Compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the pre-FDA approval information exchange deck and associated resources after FDA approval to include value proposition, coding requirements, and other supporting payer marketing tools
  • Optimize product formulary positioning and increase product market share via leadership of collaborative plan pull-through initiatives with field sales, brand marketing and leadership
  • Facilitate pull-through & access education at assigned accounts and provide other account management services that optimize patient access while mitigating potential barriers
  • Collaborate with other national directors and other market access team members and sales partners
  • Develop a wide range of clinical, medical, pharmacy, and executive advocates within influence functions of customer’s business
  • Promote and differentiate our client's product(s) to key executives and decision makers within assigned strategic accounts
  • Conduct analysis and develop business plans, owning all aspects of communication and engagement for internal multi-functional reviews and approvals
  • Develop and deliver account proposals, negotiate terms and conditions, execute contracts, monitor and measure profitability
  • Provide updates to leadership on assigned account activities and trends, recommending, defining, and implementing tactics to maximize product sales and profitability
  • Profile payers within assigned strategic accounts
  • Build and execute payer account access strategies for strategic accounts
  • Effectively manage budgets and project timelines as needed
  • Develop account specific strategic business plans, execute against them, and provide quarterly business updates
  • Represent the company at major payer and trade conferences

 

Job Requirements

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or life science. MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years within Market Access experience and 10 years in pharmaceuticals
  • Current relationships with top National Payers in the US. Kaiser experience strongly preferred
  • Strong launch experience w. pre-PDUFA market preparation & planning  
  • Remote position, however candidate must live within 30 miles of an airport

Travel:  Ability to travel up to 80% as needed

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $190,000 to $200,000.  The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position.  Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role.
