Responsibilities

The Executive Director Commercial Operations Efficiency will be working with the Commercial business leaders in each of the businesses, as well as consultants for those businesses.  The Operations business leaders will be responsible for driving the efficiencies in their businesses.  This role will collaborate with the operations business leaders to remove any obstacles, work with shared services, dealing with quality and delivery issues and engaging with other key stakeholders.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works across the Division to identify opportunities for efficiency through automation, process improvement and lower cost delivery
  • Works with business leaders to develop detailed action plans and business cases to address efficiency opportunities in line with the strategic plans established by top leadership.
  • Oversees daily execution of action plans by businesses, working directly with business leads, consultants and other team members to ensure financial and operational objectives are achieved
  • Coordinates with shared services (BT, TA, CRES, Legal, etc) to ensure delivery of necessary services for such initiatives
  • Reporting on progress to CLT and Corporate COE
  • Delivers significant savings targets to Commercial which have a significant long-term impact on the division. ( $10 million in 2021)

Job Requirements

Along with demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

Required:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • 15+ years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry
  • 10+ years of experience in business process
  • Commercial operations experience a plus

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management in a variety of functional areas within the Commercial businesses.
  • Ability to multitask, work under deadlines, manage expectations and execute timely deliverables
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent internal stakeholder management skills
  • Sharp presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Full Knowledge of all Syneos service functions with ability to anticipate needs, make recommendations and respond to ad hoc requests quickly and appropriately
  • The drive for self-development, the ability to collaborate, and an action-oriented work ethic
