This opportunity is with our Deployment Solutions team, which partners with top tier pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology companies to provide better, smarter, faster solutions for the industry. The VP Learning Solutions is a leader who has overall accountability for the Learning Solutions Department’s performance.  This is a strategic business leader who will evolve the future of the Learning Solutions business to keep pace with the future of the Commercial strategic model.  The VP defines the department’s objectives and develops a strategy to achieve or exceed plan.  The VP Learning Solutions sets and tracks progress against forecast of net revenue and profit margin.  The VP builds and develops a well-balanced, motivated, and engaged team.  The VP is responsible for ensuring high client satisfaction and quality of deliverables; develops and maintains department capabilities, drives significant innovation and process and thought leadership within the marketplace, and maintains effective operations.


  • Manages the NRR and costs (e.g., team members, discretionary spend) to help Learning Solutions achieve plan
  • Drives Learning Solutions year-over-year growth in alignment with targets
  • Develops and tracks progress against forecasts, with a target of coming within a minimum of -10% of plan
  • Sets the strategic direction of Learning Solutions and prioritizes the capabilities and services based upon a review of the current marketplace and current capabilities, in-line with Syneos Health’s overall strategy. 
  • Brings insights and expertise to bear across projects.  Sets the strategic direction in terms of capabilities and expansion opportunities.
  • Ensures high client satisfaction by maintaining awareness of project progress and client perspectives and swiftly addresses cases of client dissatisfaction.
  • Drives significant thought leadership and IP development, both internally and externally, to the marketplace in accordance with the Learning Solutions strategy
  • Effectively collaborates with other leaders and key internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with Learning Solutions objectives
  • Accountable for overall Learning Solutions team development, satisfaction, skill-set mix, recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing training; ensures professional development, performance management, and Learning Solutions calibration activities are effectively conducted.


Job Requirements

Along with demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

Required Education
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.  MBA/PHD/PharmD degree from a top 20 program is preferred.

Required Skills

  • At least 7 years demonstrated experience selling and managing large accounts with pharmaceutical clients is required.
  • The drive for self-development, the ability to collaborate, and an action-oriented work ethic
Preferred Skills
  • 5-7 years of experience in a Management Consulting firm in a leadership role with specific focus on pharmaceutical and biotech clients is preferred.
