Overview

The Senior Project Manager manages multidisciplinary teams to task and oversees the development of agency work across multichannel tactics. This role is able to clearly articulate every facet of tactical delivery to agency  and clients counterparts. Responsible for overall quality of work, deadlines and budgets for agency projects and accounts. Is a key strategic partner on all brand teams.

Responsibilities

 

Primary Responsibilities:  Relationships & Tactical Execution (+/–60%)

  • Effectively manages on-time, on budget delivery of projects through use of appropriate resource and processes
  • Responsible for trafficking jobs through digital routing system to ensure that they stay on task
  • Ability to develop timelines and estimates of all levels of complexity working with supervisor as needed
  • Thoroughly understands digital and print process
  • Balances agency/client needs and consults appropriate team members for input/approvals of proposed timing and estimate
  • Facilitates communication between team members in all phases of project development by ensuring all disciplines are kept abreast of action items, feedback, next steps, client communications/conference reports, project developments/status and direction etc. Ensures right people are in the right meetings
  • May perform a client-facing role, taking the lead in walking internal stakeholders and clients through project schedules of critical dates, explaining and clearly articulating details embedded in estimates and timelines. Understands and is able to partner with Account Services counterpart to help manage client expectations in tandem with their agency counterparts
  • Develops strong relationships with cross functional leads

Secondary Responsibilities:  Strategy & Agency Operations (+/–25%)

  • Proactively able to identify areas of risk associated with a project (learning risk mitigation)
  • Ensures team adherence to agency process. Identifies issues and leads problem resolution
  • Fundamental understanding of agency finances. Understands client compensation structure. Understands agency income sources
  • Provides weekly financial health reports and recommendations; support forecasting
    • Partners with Account team to track and report actual hours on a weekly basis
  • Partners with Account team & PM Sup to develop yearly SOW and associated staff plan

Tertiary Responsibilities:  Personal Development & Management (+/–15%)

  • Escalates to supervisor as needed
  • May mentor, train and directly supervise junior PM team members; review work product, estimates and timelines developed by junior team members

Job Requirements

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Previous project management and project planning experience
  • Prior pharma ad agency experience preferred

Skills Required

  • Has a thorough knowledge and understanding of all multichannel projects; knows what it takes creatively to develop projects (project steps, capabilities, technologies, creative responsibilities and skills, QA/QC processes print and digital).
  • Ability to collaborate closely with others in a team environment under tight deadlines
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve
  • Outstanding communications skills
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Approaches work proactively
  • Able to independently manage a brand with minimal oversight
