Overview

We are excited to be working with a specialty pharmaceutical company headquartered in, Canada. The company is focused on addressing unmet medical needs by bringing to market specialist therapies for people with orphan medical conditions, including those living with HIV.

Already available in the US this exciting new therapy is the first in a new class of antiretroviral compounds and the first monoclonal antibody developed for the treatment of HIV.

As a new company in the EU market, the organization looking for a talented and driven marketing professional join the commercial team to launch its product in Europe.  It is an exciting time as the company starts to build their team and expertise in this region and will give the successful candidate plenty of opportunity to grow as the company develops and expands.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the European General Manager, the European Marketing Director will develop and drive the implementation of the marketing strategy for the Therapy and pipeline products across Europe. This role will be responsible for directing and overseeing all marketing activity incorporating Medical communications, Public Relations, Advertising and Digital. They will provide cross-functional leadership across the different functions within Thera, promoting integration and collaborative thinking. The Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and implementing the operational plans to ensure critical business goals are achieved. This role will work closely with senior leaders across the Thera Europe leadership team including Medical Affairs, Market Access and Sales. 

(Duties may include, but are not limited to all or some of the following)

  • Build and implement product launch plans across EU5 and main mid Europe
  • Development of the marketing strategy and operating plan covering EU5 and the wider European landscape. This includes defining the brand/product strategy, brand tactics, key activities/deliverables and market development
  • Coordinate and oversee all marketing activities across the account; incorporating Medical Communications, Public Relations, Advertising and Digital
  • Exhibit cohesive cross-functional leadership across the different disciplines
  • Identify and optimize expertise across marketing functions. Working closely with the Commercial Lead and Global marketing team to develop and implement the Brand strategy
  • Work closely with Country colleagues to implement key parts of the launch plans to ensure optimal launch
  • Work closely with the Medical Department to ensure that marketing activities are aligned with Medical narrative and Medical Affairs deliverables
  • Establish clear direction and best practice across the marketing function
  • Effectively build relationships with internal team, senior leaders and key customer stakeholders

Job Requirements

Along with your ability to remain at the forefront of your field, you must possess:

  • An understanding of all aspects of product design and brand launch
  • Substantial Marketing experience within the Pharmaceutical/Device industry
  • Experience navigating multi matrix organization
