Responsibilities

The National Account Director is a remote position and will be responsible for developing and implementing managed care strategies while building long term positive and profitable relationships for the company’s lead women’s health asset. The National Account Director will work within assigned accounts and cover all market access channels as needed. These may include: National Accounts, Regional Accounts, State Medicaid Accounts, PBMs, IDNs, state and local policy makers, and VA-DOD-Tricare accounts. The National Account Director’s primary responsibilities include securing favorable formulary status and access. The role will conduct financial analysis, develop proposals, secure internal approvals, negotiate terms and conditions, and implement contractual agreements with customers as needed.

This role reports to the Sr. Director of Account Management and Pricing and will work closely with Field Sales Directors, Operations & Analytics, Trade, Finance, Legal, and Compliance. In this role you will:

  • Deliver the pre-FDA approval information exchange deck and associated resources after FDA approval to include value proposition and other supporting payer marketing tools
  • Optimize the product’s formulary positioning and increase product market share via leadership of collaborative plan pull-through initiatives with field sales, brand marketing and leadership
  • Facilitate pull-through at the national and regional levels and provide other account management services that optimize patient access while mitigating potential barriers
  • Develop a wide range of clinical, medical, pharmacy, and executive advocates within influence functions of customer’s business
  • Promote and differentiate the product to key executives and decision makers within assigned strategic accounts
  • Conduct analysis and develop business plans, owning all aspects of communication and engagement for internal multi-functional reviews and approvals
  • Develop and deliver account proposals, negotiate terms and conditions, execute contracts, monitor and measure profitability
  • Provide updates to leadership on assigned account activities and trends, recommending, defining, and implementing tactics to maximize product sales and profitability
  • Profile payers within assigned strategic accounts
  • Build and execute payer account access strategies for strategic accounts
  • Effectively manage budgets and project timelines as needed
  • Develop account specific strategic business plans, execute against them, and provide quarterly business updates
  • Represent the company at major payer and trade conferences

Job Requirements

Along with demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

  • Account management, C-suite interactions, and business-to-business selling experience
  • Outstanding oral, written and group communication skills with demonstrated success in presentation and facilitation
  • Excellent judgement and strategic business management skills with ability to make short and long-term business decisions
  • Proven ability to build credible and strong relationships
  • Ability to lead with and without authority
  • Experience in developing, negotiating, and managing contracts with payers with successful results
  • Education and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or life science. MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years within Market Access experience and 10 years in pharmaceuticals
  • Current relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers with top PBMs
  • Strong launch experience with pre-PDUFA market preparation & planning
  • Remote position, however candidate must live within 30 miles of an airport
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
