Overview

Cadent Medical Communications is in search of a highly motivated, strategic, and collaborative individual to provide scientific leadership and strategy across key components of our growing promotional medical education and medical affairs business

  • As a key leader within our scientific services group, this individual will:

    • Foster client relationships to solidify agency business and ensure client satisfaction

    • Multi-task across accounts, leading teams and projects to be seen as a valued client partner and internal team resource

    • Develop subject matter expertise in key accounts, providing cogent strategic advice to our clients

    • Take a leading role in the design of key promotional or medical affairs deliverables (eg, advisory boards, speaker decks, thought leader videos, scientific platforms, publication plans)

    • Overseeing and assisting junior members of the team as needed to ensure flawless execution

    • Proactively assist the Director of Scientific Services with resourcing and team allocation

    • Assist in training junior members and champion Cadent SOPs

  • The VP, Medical Director will also play a key role in business development by

    • Identifying and/or capitalizing on organic growth opportunities with existing clients

    • Participating in RPIs/RFPs, including strategy and deck content development

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and scientific leadership across multiple accounts/projects

    • Come up-to-speed quickly on new therapeutic areas and bring a keen sense of business and marketing strategy to inform client recommendations

    • Remain up-to-speed with the latest industry trends and help maintain relevance of Cadent offerings

    • Be a leading participant in formal new business opportunities (RFI/RFP) and capitalize on organic growth opportunities

    • Champion, reinforce, and evolve Cadent SOPs for author-centric publication execution

    • Proactively assist the Director of Scientific Services with resourcing and team allocation

    • Workshop development and facilitation experience

    • Set clear expectations and milestones for employee growth and spearhead routine performance reviews

    • Identify, foster, and monitor necessary skills development for director reports

Job Requirements

  • Advanced degree in biomedical field, PhD, MD preferred

  • 10+ years’ experience in the medical communications industry

  • Previous management or supervisory experience

  • Understanding of marketing principles and their application to medical communications

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Broad therapeutic category experience a plus, though neprhology, immunology, oncology, neuroscience preferred

  • Experience across both promotional and non-promotional medical communication activities, including peer-to-peer programs, advisory boards, scientific platforms, MSL materials (proactive and reactive), digital medical communications and publications

  • Strong client and industry relationships

  • Excellent computer skills, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel
