Overview

We are seeking a public relations professional to join Biosector 2. This job presents the opportunity to work in the areas of myelofibrosis and mental health/psychiatry, as well as support a client on commercial communications 

 

Account Overview:

  • Oncology - immunotherapy US and global brand communications program, including major milestones in urothelial carcinoma as well as support for additional tumor types
  • Oncology background is a plus but not required;  however, team members must have deep interest in scientific and data/regulatory communications – but important to note variety of business will allow for unique and challenging opportunities given Alliance of two companies and milestones across various tumor types
  • Respectful and engaged clients who appreciate attention to detail, creative thinking and view us as partners; direct clients are PR, but with open line to other functions throughout both companies, providing diverse client relationships and experiences
  • Business includes global and US brand communications (i.e., data, regulatory, access), opportunistic media, stakeholder relations, issues management, internal communications, social media/digital and measurement
  • Potential for travel to major medical meetings (one US and one ex-US)

Responsibilities

  • A team member who will support overall account team leader and strategic counselor, help guide and mentor two junior team members and act as liaison for creative and digital team members -- with strong client relations expertise and familiarity with branded pharmaceutical product and scientific communications
  • Priority focus will be on brand communications surrounding major congresses, publications, regulatory actions and issues preparedness. This will include liaising with two clients, brand/review teams, and external thought leaders to help inform brand communications program and positioning, and of course corresponding resource materials (press releases, creative assets, etc.)
  • Additional small-scale unbranded advocate and patient engagement activities to raise awareness of renal cell carcinoma, Merkel cell carcinoma and urothelial carcinoma
  • This candidate will also have strong project management skills, including team delegation, timeline and budget tracking, quality control and logistics planning. Strong writing, organization, logistics, collaboration, and oral communications skills are critical. Additionally, an understanding of social media processes/tools/approach/regulations, corporate review processes, healthcare regulations and issues management is beneficial
  • Writing, organization, logistics, collaboration, attention to detail and oral communications are important
  • Willingness to travel is required for client meetings and events in this role. May also need to work weekends during certain milestones

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience  in a professional environment within the public relations and/or communications industries (required)
  • This candidate should have strong project management skills, including team delegation, timeline and budget tracking, attention to detail/quality control and logistics planning (preferred)
  • Additionally, an understanding of social media processes/tools/approach/regulations, corporate review processes, healthcare regulations and issues management is beneficial (preferred)
  • Strong writing, organization, logistics, collaboration and oral communications skills are critical (required)
  • Hematology and mental health experience is a plus but not required
