Syneos Health’s Reputation & Risk Management team is looking for an exceptional senior consultant and strategist to join our rapidly growing communications practice. What you’ll do: You will serve as a senior consultant on client business as well as contribute to business development and client growth. Specifically, this role must oversee communications and stakeholder engagement strategies relative to reimbursement, affordability and access to new and existing medicines.  Maintaining familiarity with evolving federal, state and payer policy will also be required.

Daily activities will require solving problems, creating strategic plans, overseeing team deliverables, and providing strategic counsel and communications materials to clients.


Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Creating unique, evidence-based solutions for unchartered problems and delivering clear, actionable recommendations for how clients should address them
  • Developing bespoke messaging and materials that translate complex concepts into resonant messages for key stakeholders
  • Distilling complex matters of policy and access into clear guidance for clients
  • Generating perspective pieces about emerging access and pricing trends facing the industry (federal, state and payer)
  • Originating and ensuring the execution of cross-functional solutions (e.g., blending communications, consulting, market access, payer marketing)
  • Serving as the senior-most strategist and counselor across 4-5 client accounts
  • Being accountable to Practice senior leadership to manage client tight client deadlines and completing deliverables with excellence
  • Contributing to practice thought leadership and marketing efforts such as participating in conferences, panels and publishing
  • Supporting the up-skilling and management of mid-and junior level staff
  • Developing and successfully delivering business proposals for new and growing clients
  • Managing accounts to ensure the timely and excellent execution of deliverables and account financials
    • Oversee market research or custom research relative to client needs (e.g., development of case study analogs, message testing, qualitative insights)

Job Requirements

What you need: Our ideal candidate will be able to work independently under tight deadlines with limited direction. Other key skills include:

  • ~15 years of experience (preferably past agency, consulting or healthcare)
  • Background in healthcare market access and policy preferred
  • Capacity to process new information rapidly and make decisions based on limited information
  • Strong ability to develop and deliver evidence-based counsel that persuades C-suite executives
  • Comfort working in cross-functional teams large and small
  • Willingness to jump into any issue and provide support to colleagues with minimal onboarding
  • Strong client service orientation and charismatic speaking ability
  • Excellent skills in Power Point and Word.
  • Strong writing and content development capabilities


Fluency in health policy and pharmaceutical commercialization preferred.

Who you are: We’re looking for a self-described healthcare “nerd”—someone who wants to think about complex national (and global) healthcare issues and advise clients on communications implications. To succeed in this role, you need a knack for solving problems quickly and an ability to be poised under pressure. Candidates must have a proven track-record of resourcefulness and hands on experience gathering available information to formulate persuasive recommendations and action plans. Excellent writing, verbal presentation and power point skills are required. The position is half communications and half consulting.
