Responsibilities

The Regional Sales Manager’s (RSM) responsibility will be the development and management of a designated region and the personnel within the region with a goal of maximizing product promotion through customer engagement. This role is responsible for leading, directing and managing activities of designated Key Account Managers (KAMs) within a specific geographical area. The RSM is responsible for leading his/her team to the achievement of established key business objectives. They will participate in national, regional, and local strategic meetings, as well as, lead meetings with their respective team.

Key Job Responsibilities: (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following):

  • To lead, manage and develop the skill sets and overall performance of the sales representatives in his or her region
  • Regional travel will be required
  • Hire, train, develop and coach new and existing KAMs
  • Develop and implement approved business plans to contribute to overall project success
  • Monitor all field activities to make certain all are within compliance guidelines
  • Provide feedback on marketing tactics and market conditions to senior leaders

Job Requirements

Along with a results-oriented mindset, self-assurance and an engaging manner, the ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum
  • A minimum of 10 years in pharmaceutical, medical or related medical sales
  • At least 5+ years successful District or Regional Management experience
  • HIV, Rheumatology, Oncology, or Specialty experience preferred
  • Experience managing or selling in Pharmaceutical or Medical Device/Diagnostic Arena
  • Understanding of market strategy, tactical mix, and financial management desirable
  • Ability to travel and possess a current driver’s license and clean driving record
