The Applied Data Science team is looking for an entrepreneurial leader to help build the omnichannel audience and analytics practice for one of the world’s top biopharma commercialization companies. 

This position offers meaningful and challenging work in a team of supportive and bright colleagues and a great deal of independence and responsibility. Many things will have to be invented and built from scratch.

The Applied Data Science group at Syneos Health is a dynamic, creative team that uses ML technologies to make drug commercialization activities more effective and efficient across personal and non-personal channels. The Team

The Audience and Analytics team delivers audience targeting and channel mix plans; analyzes performance of personal, digital, and broad-reach marketing activities that engage HCPs, patients, payers, and other stakeholders in the healthcare process against ROI benchmarks; and makes evidence-based optimization recommendations. 


  • Targeting:  Recommend optimal targeting, segmentation, and media mix and weight strategies. Develop validation strategies for the recommendations. Revise recommendations based on new evidence.
  • Analytics data integration: Lead data integration projects to consolidate clients' analytics stack. Advise on the choice of platforms. Design a data strategy and lead data acquisition. Outline database specifications.
  • Integrated performance analytics: Design and manage marketing campaign analytics projects that integrate data from multiple sources, platforms, and partners across personal, non-personal, and broad-reach media campaigns. Develop campaign dashboards.  Identify sources of future business growth. Model and forecast performance of marketing investments and identify optimization strategies.


The Director is a leader who directs project teams from pre-award to shipment, ensures timely delivery of high-quality analytical products, and builds and mentors a world-class team.

  • Collaborate with the business development team to define  project scopes, budgets, and approaches
  • Lead the team's responses to RFPs, participate in pitch presentations
  • Initiate and guide development of new analytical products
  • Lead project teams working on healthcare targeting and performance analytics projects
  • Develop measurement plans and strategies for data capture and analysis
  • Oversee development of the data technology stack
  • Nurture deep client relationships
  • Design and implement operation procedures and best practices
  • Build and mentor a team of highly effective onshore and offshore analysts and consultants

Job Requirements

  • 8-12 years planning and analyzing digital HCP, DTC, and payer marketing campaigns or field force deployment for biopharma companies on the client side or in an agency environment
  • Effectively presenting recommendations to C-level executives
  • Pitching and winning analytics assignments
  • Analyzing medical and pharmacy claims and other similar datasets
  • Shipping sophisticated and user-friendly analytical dashboards
  • Deploying technologies for ad serving, measurement, and analysis
  • Managing data feeds from multiple execution partners
  • Recruiting, mentoring and motivating analytics teams; managing remote or offshore work.
