Responsibilities

Working closely with Brand Marketing, Market Access and Sales within Commercial Strategy and Sales Operations, this individual ensures that all analytical projects are implemented based on the most appropriate statistical and analytical methodologies. This role will leverage analytics to drive improvements in predicting impact of commercial events on brand performance, applying pattern recognition and related techniques to improve forecasts, improvements in KPIs or the identification of new KPIs that improve transparency and highlight improvement opportunities and conducting other ad- hoc analyses as required.

In addition, this role will be responsible for CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system design, training and improvements that support the field. This includes proactive interaction across sales, marketing and IT to ensure that sales force personnel have accurate, timely and actionable customer information. This role will evaluate and lead the implementation of various system improvements such as mobile phone CRM, call targeting real-time suggestions, Veeva MyInsights data inclusions and MDM (Master Data Management).

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Act as the "Go-to" person enabling commercial associates’ access to internal and external performance data to help analyze performance and key performance insights/analytics.

 

  • Work with stakeholders to develop proactive data-mined analyses to uncover actionable insights and business opportunities as well as regular reporting processes.
  • Provide decision support utilizing a broad range of quantitative techniques to analyze key business and market dynamics.
  • Conduct analysis that informs brand forecasts and reflects key brand investments and deployment of resources.

 

  • Implement quantitative key performance indicators that ensure brand level tactical focus and execution is aligned with strategic intent.
  • Continuously evaluate and deploy the appropriate tools and analytical techniques to ensure high quality, timely and cost-effective output.

 

  • Develop conceptual data models, design, build, and test sets of reporting and analytic business intelligence programs.
  • Serve as technical subject matter expert in: Data Warehouse | Data Visualization | Data Science | Big Data |Machine Learning.

 

 

  • Perform in-depth research on root cause of data anomalies that are uncovered through normal course of analysis.

 

 

  • Synthesize data from various sources to create strategic insights.
  • Support marketing and sales efforts quantitatively, through data mining to reveal both product and market trends and by answering key business questions.

 

  • Ensure high quality reports and data accuracy which meet user needs and work with business to ensure that the reports are appropriately interpreted/used.

 

  • Identify appropriate 3rd party data sources, where necessary, in order to improve the quality of analyses.

 

Job Requirements

Along with demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

      •   Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in statistics or computer science. Advanced degree an added plus.
      • 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/medical devices/life sciences industry 
      • Strong analytical skills with fluency in the use of a wide range of secondary data sources. including, but not limited to standard sales, prescription, medical, and promotional audits, as well as general business and pharmaceutical industry sources of intelligence is required. 
      • Ability to frame and communicate issues in strategic terms, sound consultative skills and good business sense is required. 
      • Commercial acumen in order to be able to confidently support, challenge and influence colleagues at headquarter and local level. 
      • Ability to effectively build relationships across teams with a track record of collaborative partnerships to develop a solution. 
        • Previous consulting experience preferred. 
        • Experience with data warehouse design elements.
  • Experience resolving common data quality issues related to data.
  • Experience with SQL / Python / R programming languages. 
  • Demonstrate proficiency with multiple reporting techniques, including Qlik Sense, Tableau, Excel, etc. 
  • Experience with relational databases required.
