What You'll Be Doing

The Syneos Health Medical Affairs Field Director (MSL Director) is responsible for leading the Global MSL team in supporting and implementing strategic and tactical plans to the field to drive the Medical Affairs Activities beginning in Oncology clinical trials.  This role is also responsible for ensuring Medical Affairs strategy is executed, trained, and delivered by the MSLs. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the MSL team in developing field medical strategy
  • Participate in developing the global medical affairs strategy including conference activities, publications, patients and physician educational programs, collaboration with other stake holders, post launch studies, investigator initiated studies, etc.
  • Lead, train, develop and energize the Field Medical team to create a highly motivated cohesive MSL team
  • Continue in building a collaborative environment that drives field medical success and client partnerships
  • Lead relationship building with all stakeholders: key external experts, oncologists, patients advocacy groups, payers, etc.
  • Manage the Field Medical team in all aspects of the first line manager’s responsibilities in order to facilitate engagement

Job Requirements

Along with demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

  • PhD, PharmD, MD or related degree preferred
  • Outstanding strategic thinking, problem-solving, innovation and creativity
  • Proven leadership qualities
  • 5+ years in Medical Affairs or MSL Field Leadership
  • 10+ Years in Pharmaceutical industry experience in Medical Affair organization preferably in areas of oncology
  • Experience with clinical trial  and execution required
  • Organizational and communication skills both internally and to external partners
