Responsibilities

The Director, National Accounts & Government Affairs Director will be directly be responsible for ensuring access of Trogarzo®and  EGRIFTASV™ ® with both National  and Regional commercial plans, as well as State Medicaid and ADAP plans. This candidate will also assume responsibility for CMS, NASTAD and other National governing entities responsible for policy.   The NAM will be directly responsible for the market development and implementation of the coverage and reimbursement strategy that will maximize patient access.   The NAM will be responsible for minimizing and/or removing barriers associated with patient access to Theratechnologies products with commercial and government payers as assigned. This candidate will work within the State Medicaid system and assigned commercial payers to understand policy, determine meeting dates for disease state review and present product information. The candidate will work with sales and market access teams to handle and resolve access issues. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining close collaboration with all key internal business unit leadership to ensure all government affairs activities fully support the company’s annual objectives. The Director, National Accounts & Government Affairs will provide a key role in developing and implementing the strategic direction for access and reimbursement.  This position is charged with executing on specific public policy goals in support of the company. In addition will work closely with the manager of reporting and compliance to meet all requirements with Government regulatory authorities.  The Director, National Accounts & Government Affairs is expected to be a self-starting, highly skilled communicator both internally and with external audiences to strengthen working relationships amongst all key stakeholders.

Key Job Responsibilities: (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following):

  • Support the assigned region for all matters of access and reimbursement from commercial and Government payers
  • Be the subject matter expert on Government payers such as Medicare, Medicaid, ADAP, VA/DOD
  • Responsibility for development and execution of the payer value proposition  with commercial and government payers
  • Coordinate with fellow National Account Directors, sales management, and patient access (HUB) teams
  • Serve as subject matter expert on legislative and regulatory efforts in support the Company’s   key therapeutic areas.
  • Develop, design and manage the Company’s contracting strategy with key government groups such as NASTAD, Medicaid PBM’s VA/DOD  in support of reimbursement and product access for patients Must have 7-9 years of related work experience in pharmaceutical government affairs.
  • Knowledge of FDA, SOP and cGMP standards, guidelines and government affairs health policy issues.
  • Communicate pertinent Federal and State laws related to pharmaceuticals.
  • Excellent organizational skills with capacity to handle multiple tasks. Flexible and willing to take on progressive increased responsibility over time.
  • Self-starter who is effective at working with team members with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, problem-solving, drafting, negotiation, and client communication skills.
  • Sound business judgment and ability to interface with external stakeholders at all levels and functions.
  • Develop and execute against strategic initiatives that recognized the unique nature of Theratechnologies products  are consistent with business objectives, and leverage state and federal relationships for optimal success
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of political climate, monitor and address key issues
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent Company priorities in an external capacity.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of Biotech/Pharmaceutical experience including 7 years minimum experience with market access and/or government affairs
  • National Account management experience required
