Overview

    • We are seeking a public relations professional to join Biosector 2. This job presents the opportunity to work in the areas of myelofibrosis and mental health/psychiatry, as well as support a client on commercial communications 

     

    Account Overview:

    • Myelofibrosis business includes patient education campaigns, disease awareness campaigns, with coordination on social media and patient advocacy
      • Myelofibrosis is an incurable blood cancer that primarily impacts people 55 and older and can have devastating effects on quality of daily life due to symptoms like extreme fatigue and pain
      • There is collaboration with our Syneos advertising partners, GSW, who support marketing efforts for this team
    • Psychiatry business includes work across franchise (branded and unbranded communications, internal communications, social media) and advocacy communications/engagement
    • Commercial business includes preparing internal communications largely focused around supporting the company’s Chief Commercial Officer (e.g., presentations, remarks, remarks)
    • Potential for travel to client events (e.g., medical meetings or advocacy/patient events)  

Responsibilities

    • A team member who will support overall account team leader and strategic counselor -- with strong client relations and familiarity with branded pharmaceutical product and scientific communications, as well as advocacy relations/engagement
    • Priority focus for Myelofibrosis business will be on developing patient-focused educational content and developing/executing disease awareness strategies; potential focus will be on social media/multimedia content creation
    • Priority focus for psychiatry franchise business will be supporting advocacy activities and unbranded/disease awareness activities, including the development of internal and external communications for a variety of audiences (e.g., employees, advocates, general public)
    • Regularly engage with client, vendors and third-parties
    • Willingness to travel is required for client meetings and/or events
    • Manage timelines, calendars and overall account support (e.g., budgets, monthly billing, action plans)

Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or related field (preferred)
    • Minimum 4-5 years of experience  in a professional environment within the public relations and/or communications industries (required)
    • This candidate should have strong project management skills, including team delegation, timeline and budget tracking, attention to detail/quality control and logistics planning (preferred)
    • Additionally, an understanding of social media processes/tools/approach/regulations, corporate review processes, healthcare regulations and issues management is beneficial (preferred)
    • Strong writing, organization, logistics, collaboration and oral communications skills are critical (required)
    • Hematology and mental health experience is a plus but not required
