Overview

    • We are seeking a public relations professional to join Biosector 2. This job presents the opportunity to work in oncology across a variety of work streams and projects for Novartis

     

    Account Overview:

    • Novartis breast cancer franchise brands and disease awareness/patient education; work is in advanced breast cancer, the most serious form of the disease for which there is no cure
      • Business includes brand communications (i.e., data, regulatory milestones), patient education campaigns, disease awareness campaigns, social media strategy and execution, and patient advocacy activations
      • Direct clients are PR and US/Global Advocacy
    • Novartis Oncology employee engagement business focuses on supporting the development of communications for various internal audiences
    • Nice, respectful and engaged clients who appreciate creative thinking and view us as real partners
    • Potential for travel to client meetings, medical meetings or events  

Responsibilities

  • A team member who will support overall account team leader and strategic counselor -- with strong client relations and familiarity with branded pharmaceutical product and scientific communications as well and unbranded and educational campaigns

  • For Novartis breast franchise, priority focus will be on executing a Global Breast Cancer Awareness social media campaign as well as creating patient-focused educational content and developing/executing promotional strategies

  • Additional focus will be on disease awareness campaign execution, including social media content creation, and medical meeting data communication support

  • For Novartis Oncology employee engagement, priority focus will be content development for internal audiences (e.g., messaging, newsletters, social media content) as well as strategic and leadership communications support
  • Regularly engage with client, vendors and third-parties
  • Willingness to travel is required for client meetings and/or events
  • Manage timelines, calendars and overall account support (e.g., budgets, monthly billing, action plans)

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience  in a professional environment within the public relations and/or communications industries (required)
  • This candidate should have strong project management skills, including team delegation, timeline and budget tracking, quality control and logistics planning (preferred)
  • Additionally, an understanding of social media processes/tools/approach/regulations, corporate review processes, healthcare regulations and issues management is beneficial (preferred)
  • Strong writing, organization, logistics, collaboration, and oral communications skills are critical (required)
  • Writing, organization, logistics, collaboration, attention to detail and oral communications are important (required)
  • Oncology background is a plus (preferred)
