Job Summary:

This position is responsible for upholding and elevating the agency’s creative capabilities and for inspiring the internal team and clients alike in order to set and maintain a creative vision worthy of an agency with the highest standards in the industry. The expectation is to manage all aspects of his/her client relationship(s) as well as leading the agency as a whole through innovative ideas and approaches to strategic execution. In addition, this position will help ensure delivery of high quality products and services consistent with contracts and agreements, help manage financial and budgetary compliance, and is responsible (with creative ideas & solutions) for revenue growth for existing clients as well as new business.

Responsibilities

(Duties may include, but not limited to all or some of the following)

  • Develops creative strategy based on scientific, clinical, and marketplace data
  • Manages creative department in producing high quality concepts and copy that are original and strategically sound
  • Maintains a strong leadership presence both within the agency and with clients
  • Acts as an integral part of the agency Senior Leadership team helping shape the strategic direction and future of the organization
  • Grow existing brands and participate in new business to generate additional revenue
  • Work with creative, account, strategy, medical, and media in developing overall marketing strategies
  • “Owns” some accounts as the copy lead
  • Sets the creative vision for his/her brands and ensures effective creative development
  • Active in strategic development on his/her assigned projects and brands. Partners with Account Lead in this area
  • Works closely with direct reports (art and copy) to manage staffing issues
  • Leads by example by being a “hands-on” creative (still creates)
  • Provide creative leadership & standards for the entire creative department, and the agency
  • Partner with clients on effective creative development
  • Sets high creative standards for his/her teams
  • Provides career paths and development (guidance) for his/her creative team members
  • Builds and maintains strong client relationships
  • Ensures that direct reports are managing financial aspects of client relationship including compliance to contract/ agreements, billings, write-offs and receivables
  • Supervises direct reports and ensures they are working efficiently in all areas 

Job Requirements

  • Managed Markets experience
  • Launch experience preferred
  • Experience leading and developing a team

Education

  • 10 years plus experience in advertising or Copy, at least 2 of which should be in a senior management capacity

  Skills

  • Must have a thorough understanding of client’s business/category and demonstrate a best in class creative approach in offering managed markets marketing solutions to assigned clients
  • Prior business development experience and demonstrated success in strategic and concepting skills
  • Demonstrated success in managing a cross-functional team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working on a wide range of accounts and categories
  • Track record and body of work to demonstrate ability of getting highest level of creative sold and produced
  • Creative Vision: Sets & maintains high standards commensurate with Syneos Health Managed Markets creative expectations
  • Presentation Skills: Is effective and dynamic in a variety of formal presentation settings: one-on-one, small/large groups, with peers, direct reports & supervisors; is effective in selling creative rationale & work both inside and outside of the organization; instills respect and can manage meeting flow during presentations          
  • Demonstrating Ownership and Proactive Behavior: Demonstrates ownership of assigned work by continually coming up with new ideas proactively
