Who you are: A senior professional who wants to take emerging companies and their C-Suite leaders from “good” to “great.” This role is intended for a seasoned strategist who exhibits comfort delivering on-demand guidance, strategy and media training directly to C-Suite executives. You are curious and creative, finding ways to position our clients and their leaders as leaders in the industry. You are a thought-partner, not just an executor of a plan.

You have excellent writing, verbal presentation and power point skills. Finally, you have a proven track-record of resourcefulness and hands on experience gathering available information to formulate persuasive recommendations and action plans.

What you’ll do: You are intended to be a thought partner with your CEO/CCO clients helping them hone corporate and executive media visibility plans – and shape the policy environment in which they operate. You will be instrumental in brokering relationships with key reporters, industry influencers and identifying key forums to attend. In some circumstances, the role may require onsite attendance and networking at key meetings with executives and reporters (e.g., Forbes Healthcare, BIO, JPM, etc.).  

The role involves developing strong C-suite story-telling through content such as corporate narratives, opeds, bylines, speeches and patient community content. You will handle executive media trainings and refreshers. As part of your leadership role in the Practice, you will be charged with driving our storytelling capabilities (both verbal and written) throughout our practice and company. This includes developing more compelling content about their existing and investigational medicines.

You will deliver media strategy to company leaders in positive and challenging circumstances, including crises. Part of your remit will involve expanding our media relations presence to Washington, D.C.-based press.

Additional activities include:

  • Developing bespoke messaging and holding statements that translate complex concepts into resonant messages for diverse stakeholders
  • Creating unique, evidence-based solutions for unchartered problems and clear, actionable recommendations for how clients should address them
  • Built messaging and placement strategies around key corporate milestones, inflection points and crises
  • Being accountable to Practice senior leadership to manage client tight client deadlines and complete deliverables with excellence
  • Support the service and organic growth of West Coast clients (California is a growing region of business for the Practice)

Job Requirements

What you need: Our ideal candidate will be able to work independently under tight deadlines. Other key skills include:

  • Minimum 12 year of experience (preferably past agency, consulting or healthcare)
  • Educational background in policy, journalism, business, or healthcare preferred
  • Capacity to process new information rapidly and make decisions based on limited information
  • Strong ability to deliver persuasive, evidence-based counsel that wins over C-suite executives with limited time
  • Comfort working in cross-functional teams large and small
  • Willingness to jump into any matter and provide support to colleagues with minimal onboarding
  • Excellent skills in Power Point and Word.
  • Fluency in health and pharmaceutical commercialization preferred.
