Job Summary

The Project Manager, Commercial, helps the commercial organization in the management and tracking of key commercial initiatives and activities to help support the Seqirus influenza business. With the direction of the project lead(s), the Project Manager will help build detailed project plans, which includes activities, timelines, ownership, cross-functional dependencies, and risk mitigation planning for assigned project(s). Additionally, the Project Manager will lead the regular tracking of tasks and critical paths activities, and reporting of project status and risks to the project lead.

This person needs to be proactive, able to drive the process and hold people accountable for deliverables.  Must be able to take the commercial calendar and operationalize it ie prepare for conventions, POA meetings etc.  Will make sure PI (product inserts) are uploaded the website and dsitributed to the teams.  Pharmaceutical experience from the agency or manufacturing side is needed.  Knowledge of influenza or vaccines is a plus. 

Principal Accountabilities

  • Facilitate development of detailed plans and develop integrated project plans (e.g., milestones, detailed activities)
  • Document project plans, update project management reporting tools, and monitor that projects are on schedule and within budget
  • Use appropriate communication tools, including but not limited to dashboard, risks and issues log and change control log, to ensure that project stakeholders are well informed of project status
  • Monitor and report on project performance, including key activities/decisions required and interdependencies, and provide feedback, if necessary
  • Work with project / work stream leads to build budgets and monitor actual vs. expected spend
  • Acts as the primary resource for all project-related meeting agendas, minutes, and action items for team meetings. 


  • Advanced project management skills required; knowledge in PM software required
    • Planning: Ability to get the team on the same page before starting
    • Buildup: Ability to break up the work in manageable chunks and set a schedule
    • Implementation: Monitor and report on progress; drive team to ensure tasks are completed on time
    • Closeout: After-action review and debrief
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively write and deliver presentations to professionals at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize data and information into insights
  • Ability to lead through influence management

Job Requirements

Along with demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

  • Education and Experience

    • BS/BA degree required
    • At least 5 years of project management experience required; Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification a plus
    • Ability to use project management software is required
    • Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry (manufacturer or agency side) required, vaccine and/or influenza experience a plus
