The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven success in a business development role and will be experienced in building a book of business with new clients.  They will also need to be a highly engaged, positive team player and show a high degree of client focus.  This role is responsible for identifying relevant decision makers within assigned accounts, prospecting to uncover opportunities and collaborating with executive sales team to close business.  The Regional Sr. Director/Vice President is tasked with driving the syndicated business within assigned accounts as well as identifying potential cross-selling opportunities. 

This position is home-based, preferably in the Philadelphia/New Jersey/New York area, and will require periodic travel.

Responsibilities

  • Self-development and education as a business development professional in the bio-pharmaceutical market research industry
  • Identifying and building key contacts across assigned accounts (comprised of large, mid, small pharm as well as agency/media companies) – maintain and continually update internal databases with all current prospect and client information
  • Develop trust-based relationships with prospect contacts
  • Clear and prompt internal communication of status, potential pipeline and prospect needs
  • Generate new business opportunities through targeted outreach with prospective client contacts and collaborate with executive sales team to close business
  • Support executive sales team with RFP responses and larger account presentations

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required 6+ years of sales experience preferable in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience preferred with  promotion and diagnosis audit data
  • Demonstrated achievement of sales quotas in business development/sales in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation of live or WebEx group presentations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as Salesforce.com and LinkedIn
  • Experience a plus with prescription, patient claims and EMR data sets
  • Deep knowledge of the healthcare pharmaceutical industry
