This opportunity is with Syneos Health Consulting, an industry-leading consulting firm specializing in the biopharmaceutical industry providing services across a comprehensive range of key Practice Areas including commercial strategy and planning, medical affairs, risk and program management and pricing and market access. You’ll join a team with industry focus, depth of functional expertise, and strong scientific and market knowledge that is uniquely positioned to tackle highly complex business and market challenges to develop achievable strategies for our clients. High-level details in one sentence about the role. More specifically:

The Director/Funder focused Solution Leader role in the Commercial Innovation and Solutions group is responsible for the development of relationships and solution offerings for assets that are being funded by private investors.  This role will lead the design of solutions offerings, business model, and support taking these offerings to market.  This person will also be responsible for support the pursuit of existing solutions offerings, particularly those where fund raising is involved. 

  • Develop relationships with the “funders” of biopharmaceutical and medical device and diagnostic assets globally with particular focus on the US market (e.g., San Francisco and Boston markets)
  • Lead the development of integrated solutions and offerings designed to fit the needs of privately funded, small or pre-revenue companies
  • Lead the development of business models that allow Syneos Health to monetize early stage solutions offerings (e.g., equity, royalty, milestone based) while managing cash flow and risk
  • Develop a pipeline of assets for lab-to-life or other commercial solution opportunities
  • Support integrated opportunities where there is fund raising involved
  • Support the pursuit of existing integrated offerings by acting as a work stream or overall lead for an integrated, cross-commercial team

Job Requirements

Along with demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

  • MBA or graduate degree in business or life sciences
  • 10-15+ years of life sciences/pharmaceutical experience including consulting  and/or venture capital
  • A strong history of successfully selling, delivering and growing revenues.
  • Recent experience working with venture capital or private equity funds. Strong and demonstrable track record of successful relationship building.
  • Life sciences domain expertise including knowledge of how biopharmaceutical, diagnostic, and medical device products are funded, developed, and commercialized
  • Visibility in the biopharmaceutical industry and is viewed as a thought leader and trusted adviser to clients.
  • Known authority in the market in a particular industry function or domain, able to leverage external network to improve profitable revenues and market positioning.
