Description

The Senior Experience Designer (Sr. XD) is a hands-on creative practitioner and strategic thinker responsible for crafting user-centered, high-impact digital experiences across a range of platforms — including web, mobile, AR/VR, wearables, and other emerging channels. This role blends design craft, technology, and storytelling to create experiences that are functional, visually refined, and aligned with brand, campaign + creative goals. The Senior Experience Designer is adept at utilizing digital design tools and software to create a range of user-centered and impactful experiences for our audiences. The Senior Experience Designer is responsible for designing complete digital experiences which include graphic elements, navigation components, interface elements, featured content—while ensuring that the user delights in exploring that creation. To be successful in this role, the Senior Experience Designer must have experience with design software and modern digital design tools including animation and prototyping tools for digital creation.

Core Responsibilities

• Design complete digital experiences including navigation, interface elements, content architecture, and visual systems.
• Translate strategic direction into wireframes, interactive prototypes, UI/UX designs, and design system components.
• Develop concepts, prototypes, and animations that communicate interactive design solutions clearly and persuasively.
• Present creative work effectively, articulating the “big idea” and rationale behind design decisions to internal teams and clients.
• Collaborate with developers, UX, and copy to ensure seamless integration of design, content, and functionality.
• Test and iterate on design solutions based on feedback, ensuring experiences are intuitive, scalable, and engaging.
• Build and maintain component libraries in tools such as XD, Sketch, and Figma to ensure design consistency across projects.
• Create meaningful visual and experiential deliverables—including storyboards, animations, prototypes, and final presentations—that guide the build process.
• Partner with technologists and UX leads to ensure accessibility, engagement, and behavioral impact.
• Submit and manage work through review cycles, incorporating feedback through completion and handoff for production.
  

Skills & Expertise
Design and Technical Proficiency

• Expert in digital design software: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch.
• Proficient in animation and prototyping tools: Principle, Spline, Lottie, FigJam, Unity, TouchDesigner (bonus: three.js for 3D).
• Working knowledge of GenAI platforms such as Midjourney, ChatGPT, Google Veo, Figma Make, etc.  
• Deep understanding of typography, color theory, composition, and visual hierarchy.
• Strong foundational design skills, including layout design, branding, visual storytelling, and craftsmanship in both print and digital formats.
• Ability to create interactive and motion-based design solutions that enhance storytelling.
• Familiarity with component libraries, responsive design, and accessibility standards.
  

Creative and Strategic Thinking

• Strong interactive and digital engagement thinking, with the ability to transform complex healthcare concepts into elegant, user-friendly experiences.
• Experience designing for healthcare professionals and patient/consumer audiences, translating medical and scientific information into clear visual communication.
• Proficient at balancing creativity with regulatory and brand compliance.
  

Collaboration and Communication

• Excellent collaboration skills, working seamlessly with Art Directors, Copywriters, Technologists, and Account/Strategy teams.
• Skilled at presenting and rationalizing design decisions in a clear, confident manner.
• Ability to mentor junior team members, manage workflows, and uphold high creative standards.
  

Adaptability and Attention to Detail

• Adaptable to new technologies, tools, and evolving design trends.
• Meticulous attention to detail in every visual and interactive element.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to iterate quickly based on feedback.
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Interactive Media, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in digital or experience design.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in digital experiences, UI/UX, motion design, and healthcare-related work.
• Continuing education or certifications in design tools, healthcare communication, or emerging technologies are a plus.
