Regional Therapy Specialist - Hem Onc

Updated: August 6, 2026

Description

The Regional Therapy Specialist – Hematology will provide above-country scientific expertise to support our client’s assets across field and central teams across multiple European markets, strengthening scientific capability, therapy-area understanding and field readiness across countries.

The role is designed to strengthen sales confidence in the brands’ scientific, clinical, and disease-area context, particularly where treatment pathways, competitors, safety management, patient identification, referral pathways, treatment sequencing, evolving standards of care and emerging clinical evidence require clear interpretation.

The RTS will backstop the scientific and disease-area complexity of the portfolio by equipping representatives and cross-functional colleagues with clear, consistent, and compliant science. The role will support scientific briefings, Q&A preparation, objection-handling frameworks, peer-to-peer education concepts, and the interpretation of guidelines, clinical data, and treatment paradigms. The RTS will also build sustainable scientific capability within field teams through coaching, education and ongoing knowledge transfer.

Operating as an above-country scientific resource, the RTS will partner with field, marketing, training, congress planning, commercial leadership and internal Medical colleagues within defined governance. The role does not replace Medical Affairs responsibilities of the client; direct HCP interaction, where required, must be limited, planned, on-label, compliant, and within approved governance frameworks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary role responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

1. Hospital Team Field Enablement

  • Support representatives directly & indirectly through scientific briefings, coaching sessions, Q&A preparation, and science-based objection-handling frameworks.
  • Work with Cluster Sales Leads and Training to support the development and deliver scientific enablement sessions to increase field capability, confidence and consistency.
  • Provide pre-work and scientific preparation support for key representative meetings, strategic account meetings and enablement sessions.
  • Help representatives understand patient pathways, treatment sequencing and key clinical decision points relevant to Hematology brands.

2. Scientific and Medical Enablement

  • Act as an internal regional Hematology subject-matter expert for the Hematology brands.
  • Support scientific interpretation of relevant guidelines, clinical data, emerging clinical evidence, congress data and evolving treatment paradigms.
  • Monitor scientific developments and competitive dynamics in Hematology.
  • Provide medical and scientific input into core IDA, Meeting-in-a-Box, speaker slides, conference, symposium and approved internal learning materials.
  • Translate complex scientific information into clear, practical and compliant guidance for non-medical stakeholders.

3. KOL, Education and Peer-to-Peer Support

  • Provide scientific input into regional KOL identification, mapping and engagement-planning processes.
  • Help shape peer-to-peer education concepts including Meeting-in-a-Box, webinars and regional educational programmes.
  • Support identification of emerging scientific themes and educational opportunities within Hematology.
  • Ensure any involvement in KOL or education planning remains within defined governance and does not create Medical Affairs ownership or direct HCP relationship management.

4. Central and Cross-Functional Support

  • Input into training curricula for representatives adding Hematology to their portfolio and support wider portfolio training plans where relevant.
  • Support major Hematology congress strategy including EHA, ASH and relevant regional congresses, covering themes, priorities, topic logic, speaker material inputs and data dissemination.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, training, medical, congress planning, and commercial leadership colleagues to coordinate compliant scientific support.
  • Ensure all scientific support is clear, consistent, compliant, and aligned with approved materials and governance requirements.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Relevant life sciences, pharmacy, medical, nursing, biomedical science or equivalent scientific qualification preferred.
  • Advanced scientific qualification such as PhD, PharmD, MSc, MD or equivalent desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Hematology disease areas, treatment pathways, patient management, standards of care and clinical data interpretation.
  • Meets all applicable local requirements for the role and any required company training or certification.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Significant experience in Hematology, Oncology or Hema-Oncology, gained through commercial, medical, clinical or scientific roles.
  • Deep HemOnc expertise, with experience interpreting complex scientific and clinical information.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial interpretation, evidence evaluation and treatment-pathway evolution.
  • Ability to rapidly develop strong brand and therapy-area expertise, with scientific agility and continuous learning mindset.
  • Experience supporting field teams through scientific briefings, training, coaching, objection handling and meeting preparation.
  • Ability to translate guidelines, clinical data and treatment paradigms into clear, compliant internal resources.
  • Experience contributing to scientific or medical content such as speaker slides, Meeting-in-a-Box materials, congress assets, learning resources or training curricula.
  • Strong understanding of compliant scientific communication and governance boundaries between commercial and medical activities in a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with Medical, Marketing, Training, Congress Planning, Commercial Leadership and field-based colleagues.
  • Strong planning, communication, and influencing skills in a complex cross-functional environment.
  • Comfort operating in an above-country role with indirect field enablement and limited, defined customer-facing activity.
  • Preferred experience: Medical Affairs, Scientific Affairs, Clinical Development, Medical Education, MSL, Clinical Specialist or Therapy Area Specialist roles; experience with international or regional teams; familiarity with antibody-drug conjugates, targeted therapies, CAR-T and evolving Hematology treatment approaches.
