The SVP Account Director is responsible for management and financial oversight of multiple client service teams, and will assist in driving both new and organic business, as well as mange and oversee junior staff.  The SVP, Account Director is expected to drive partnership with our clients, provide strategic input, and collaborate with internal team members to ensure flawless execution of deliverables and continuous business growth. In addition, The SVP participates in management team activities and works with other department managers to facilitate inter-and intra-department communication, conflict resolution, and general operating procedures.

  • Ensure and promote client management across all accounts
    • Lead and assist in managing client contact
    • Proactively communicate and reach out to clients to assess relationships, and if necessary, improve them
    • Hold internal team accountable to highest level of client service and management
    • Assist in development of client management skills of junior staff
  • Understand and oversee execution of client strategy
    • Lead the development of medical communication plans and scopes of work, including traditional and innovative tactics
    • Ensure activities align to brand strategies
    • Provide valuable feedback and review of client deliverables
  • Oversee execution of scopes with collaboration from team members
  • Proactive financial management
    • Oversee client service team responsibilities for revenue, expenses, and efficiencies within each team
    • Oversee forecasting and overall financial health of the business
    • Resolve financial situations with the support of the internal team
  • Business Growth
    • Identify and convert organic growth opportunities across accounts
    • Assist in/lead on new business growth opportunities, both in medical communications and across Syneos Health
    • Assist in company innovation, growth and development initiatives externally and internally
  • People management and mentoring
    • Active management of assigned direct reports, including hiring, training, mentoring, and conducting performance evaluations
    • Ensure appropriate resource allocation and utilization

Desired Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field (communications, business, biology) recommended
  • Extensive knowledge and proven understanding of medical communications industry, including pharmaceutical marketing and scientific/medical concepts –12+ years preferred
  • Demonstrated experience and success working in a collaborative, team environment with direct management or mentoring experience of more junior team members
  • Proven ability to define, grow and establish new business opportunities
  • Proven organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong verbal, written, client and account management skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Highly motivated and proactive with a self-starter attitude
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, client service environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PPT, Word, Outlook, Adobe)

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $200,000 to $240,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
