In this role, you will drive meaningful commercial success by securing profitable business, actively harvesting accounts, creating leads, and ensuring accurate project forecasting and pricing. The Managing Director will contribute to setting business direction, strategy, and priorities and take ownership for driving the overall growth and scalability of the Consulting business. 

  • Build positive working relationships with clients, consulting staff, managers, leadership, and internal support teams
  • Achieve commercial success by actively harvesting accounts and creating leads at new accounts, soliciting support from other business units to close deals, and securing profitable business
  • Develop and lead, independently, a large client book of business
  • Achieves billable utilization, led book of business, and sales targets, while collaborating with others to attain overall business objectives and metrics
  • Leads and develops client relationships and ensures the delivery of well-structured projects that exceed client expectations. Is personally responsible for the design, efficiency, and outcomes related to client projects. Takes accountability for issues that may arise and rectifies those issues. Delivers projects on time and on budget
You should have deep strategic expertise in one of these areas:

Commercial Advisory, help clients maximize the commercial value of their assets, product, portfolio, and brand while building launch excellence in the commercial organization. You will also help companies market and sell more effectively in an environment increasingly dominated digital and omni channel.

 
Scientific and Medical Affairs Advisory, prepare for more effective entry into the commercial market particularly in complex specialty markets.  Provide scientific analysis and isignts and communicate with the scientific and clinical community, while giving products the strategic support they require. 
 
Research and Development Advisory, make Life Science R&D organizations and operations more efficient and effective across research, clinical, regulatory, quality and pharmacovigilance. In particular, you will help organizations in times of change whether that is driven by a change in operating model, strategy, processes, technology or combinations of these.   
 
Value and Access Advisory,   leveraging primary and secondary market research deriving insights and developing successful strategies for launch.  Utilizing deep understanding of payors, reimbursement, buy and bill and access to global markets. 
 
Commercial Innovation Solutions Advisory, collaborate across Syneos Heath to design, develop, and sell a portfolio of innovative, integrated solutions that combine internal and external capabilities to solve our clients current and future product development and commercialization needs.   
 
Risk and Program Management Advisory ,  assist pharma consortiums in facilitating the myriad legal, financial, and operational risks and nuances of program management.
 

Essential Requirements:

  • MBA or a graduate degree in a life sciences field
  • 10+ years’ leading Commercial / Strategic Consulting, with a focus on Commercial Strategy, or Market Access, or Medical Affairs in new product launch
  • Known authority in marketing, portfolio and product valuation, market research and commercial strategy; able to leverage external network to improve profitable revenues and market positioning
  • Recent experience working with large national and global pharmaceutical / biotech accounts

Desired Requirements:

  • Strong and demonstrable track record of successful life science consulting practice building
  • A strong history of successfully selling, delivering and growing consulting revenues
  • Abilty to lead and develop a world class consulting team, growing and mentoring the next generation of consulting leaders.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $250,000 to $350,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
