The National Account Manager (NAM) is an account facing, individual contributor that provides market access solutions to assigned payers and providers in a specific region.  Responsibilities include providing education and services pertaining to access, coverage, coding, reimbursement and affordability of products in a compliant and effective manner.  This individual will collaborate with cross-functional partners including Sales Representatives, Area Sales Directors, Field Reimbursement Managers, Medical, HUB Services, and internal staff to resolve reimbursement and access issues.  

Essential Functions: 

  • For aligned payers: monitor, document and influence coverage and utilization policy for appropriate on-label access to the product portfolio
  • Anticipate and respond to payer access and reimbursement challenges in assigned geography in a timely manner
  • Attend and interact with regional and national payers at key industry conferences
  • Develop and execute a business plan that are consistent with company objectives, strategies, and commercial goals
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales Representatives, Area Sales Directors, Field Reimbursement Managers, Medical, and HUB services, as required
  • Achieve targets and objectives set by senior leadership
  • Track and analyze HUB portal data for specific geography
  • Assist with market access training and ongoing education of payer and plan policies
  • Interact with customers according to compliance policies and procedures
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 50%

Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 8 years of US pharmaceutical industry experience
  • 4+ years of experience working with customers in a market access capacity
  • Comprehensive understanding of Medicare Parts A, B, C, D and knowledge of commercial insurance reimbursement
  • Understanding and familiarity with hospital and community clinic billing and reimbursement processes
  • Experience working with academic institutions and IDNs
  • Demonstrated ability to remove access barriers
  • Oncology or urology, and infused specialty product launch experience
  • Extensive knowledge of government and commercial payer coverage, payment landscapes and policies as related to cancer therapeutics
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional partners
  • Demonstrated planning and communication skills; ability to present information clearly to multiple stakeholders
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $190,000 to $200,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
