Description

The role will be responsible for developing and implementing the medical affairs strategy for the the compay’s products/pipeline in the cluster in collaboration with the commercial team and aligned with the global strategy as set by the Head of Medical Affairs Europe. The Cluster Medical Lead will lead scientific and medical communications across the pipeline with particular focus on its lead molecule, including medical communications/education, congress planning and HCP engagement. They will also support Early Access Programmes (EAPs) in and will work with European Medical Affairs team to discuss, review, and implement Externally Sponsored Research (ESRs) aligned to global strategy.

The Cluster Medical Lead will lead and manage the Country Medical lead and Field Medical Advisor(s), leading their strategic deployment and supporting all activities. The role will also act as the primary point of contact with clinical development/operations to coordinate medical affairs activity in the cluster with clinical development programmes.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains in a self-driven manner outstanding knowledge of immuno-oncology and relevan disease areas
  • Develops and maintains in a self-driven manner outstanding knowledge of company products, competitor products, and other therapeutic options within therapeutic area
  • Collaborates with cross functional team to ensure the best patient care
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of the medical strategy and broader strategy to ensure their own) activities are coordinated with the team and aligned to strategy within the company
  • Act as an educational resource to internal stakeholders (medical, commercial, field teams and other), providing medical/ scientific knowledge, training, and support on the company’s products
  • Develops and execute the Cluster Medical Communications plan in close coordination with the Commercial organization and aligned to European and global medical affairs plans
  • Establishes scientific communication and collaboration with HCPs and academia
  • Key role medical affairs insight gathering processes and operations including leading on working collaboratively towards innovative solutions for identified issues in Europe 

 

Essential Requirements:

  • MD, Phamr D, PhD (or equivalent) degree 
  • Experience of working at a regional level or more than one country of responsibility
  • Extensive medical affairs experience gained in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
  • Therapeutic area experience in Oncology and Immunotherapy compatible with current pipeline
  • Experience of leadership and management of previous MSL teams
  • Knowledge of clinical research design and GCP in the oncology/immune oncology area
  • Experience in the successful management of vendors and external teams in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrable track record of working cross functionally on strategic planning
  • Experience   with   medical    support   of   successfully   marketed biotechnology or pharmaceutical products.
  • Expertise in establishing, coordinating and chairing Advisory Boards with an established network of HCPs in Oncology
