Description

The Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) proactively provides education and support to appropriate providers and their offices/staff on reimbursement programs for designated therapeutic products in their defined geography / aligned accounts.  They serve as the key contact and lead for reimbursement and access support-related matters and are responsible for being the local market access expert on coding and billing policy and processes. Additionally, the FRM will analyze reimbursement and access issues and serve as the local reimbursement resource for field sales force personnel and area management. 

Essential Functions:

  • The FRM will need to coordinate and communicate cross functionally and provide live face-to-face and virtual engagements, using approved tools, to support and address questions about coverage requirements and educating physician office staff on the use of the patient assistance programs and call center support services.
  • Serve as a reimbursement expert for defined geography and proactively communicates changes to key stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and grow knowledge of national, regional, local, and account market dynamics including coverage and coding requirements.
  • Grow the knowledge of hub and specialty distribution channels to improve practice and patient support needs.
  • Offer approved training and process steps to the providers and offices for the entire reimbursement journey.
  • Work with internal partners to build strategic patient access and reimbursement account plans and review franchise, market access, and business plans.
  • Effective account management: uncovering customer insights through effective questioning; critical thinking and problem solving; disseminating data and information to partners.  
  • Educate HCPs on reimbursement processes claims submissions, procedures, and coding requirements of payer organizations (local payers, government payers, etc.).
  • Answer questions about coverage, ICD-10 codes, and specific product codes, including patient-specific access questions.
  • Educate and update HCP and staff members on key private and public payer coverage and changes that impact the products access for patients.
  • Support patient access to the products by providing subject matter expertise on reimbursement issues that may be barriers to product access in a manner that complies with policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.

Experience:

  • Education: bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 5 years experience in public or private third-party reimbursement arena or pharmaceutical industry in managed care, clinical support, or sales.
  • Experience with coding, billing and in office support programs.
  • Prior account management experience or prior experience with complex accounts (Payer landscape, high patient volume, and large systems).
  • Buy and bill experience with HCP administered drugs required.
  • Ability to operate as a team player, collaborating with multiple sales representatives, sales leadership, and internal colleagues to reach common goals.
  • Ability to travel and cover large multistate geography territories, at least 30% travel required, based on geography and territory / targeting make up.
  • Candidate lives within assigned geographic area.
