Responsibilities

The Content Director is empowered and accountable to:

  • Collaborate with Account Services, Medical and Planning to ensure that creative teams have the content guidance and guardrails necessary to create (i.e., correct messages for a new project kickoff)
  • Act as a hands-on copywriter, developing new promotional ideas and content in collaboration with Design Directors, Creative Directors, and Brand Designers
  • Improve the viability of conceptual ideas with industry experience and product story telling
  • Create and/or champion new creative expressions derived from strategic, medical or creative exploration (i.e., new therapeutic class, ownable nomenclature, acronyms, etc.)
  • Partner with Creative Manager and Medical to determine the appropriate talent to task for projects across the Creative Group
  • Maintain the integrity of creative executions by shepherding and negotiating content through regulatory processes, tapping into medical expertise as needed
  • Attend market research as requested, specifically around promotional content and message development
  • Oversee, implement and be the keeper of copy brand mandatory for all brands within the Creative Group
  • Ensure that all Creative Group copywriters have firm grasp of referencing mechanics

  • Knowledge of medical/regulatory process in pharmaceutical marketing (oncology and rare disease experience)
  • Proficiency in critical software—primarily Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage and delegate
    • Story Telling: Ability to think in abstract terms and translate clinical information into promotional stories; conversely, can use logic and reason to champion and defend new ideas
    • Understanding and Implementing Direction: Can understand creative direction based on objectives and executes creative work effectively. Communicates workload appropriately based on skill sets and talents; communicates well with others on workload issues & needs, the progress of work and results
    • Industry Application: Picks up on technical items quickly; is good at learning new industry, company, product, and/or technical knowledge developments of the client's business as well as the agency business; has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $85,000 to $175,000.  The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position.  Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.  In addition, some positions MAY include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.


Syneos Health has a voluntary COVID-19 vaccination policy.  We strongly encourage all employees to be fully vaccinated.  Additionally, certain local governments or Syneos Health customers may have vaccine requirements that apply to some of our employees.  These employees are required to submit proof of vaccination to Syneos Health and maintain compliance with these requirements.
